Tammy Sowell

On Friday, April 6th, 2018 at Yale New Haven Hospital our Lord and Savior called Tammy to his Kingdom to be with Him. Tammy Fashay Sowell (Belle) was born on November 29, 1982 in Bridgeport, CT, to the loving parents of Alaina (Belle) Hargrove and the late Tony Leonard Belle. Tammy begin her formal education in Bridgeport Public Schools, graduating from Webster Elementary School, Blackham Middle School and Warren Harding High School Allied Health Program class of 2000. Tammy’s love for helping others didn't just begin in High School. As a young child growing up in a large family, Tammy was always known for her big heart and caring for others. Her mother, Alaina, vividly recalls stories of Tammy trying to save every animal and insect in her neighborhood. While her family was out and about playing tag and jump rope, everyone would always find her outside "taking care of friends". Tammy was employed by Waterbury Hospital and Hewitt Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was currently pursuing her passion and taking classes at Housatonic Community College in hopes of one day of becoming a veterinarian. She was a freelance actress who stared in commercials and short films. She was also an entrepreneur who was working on an invention called Liquid Heels. She was always jokingly telling her mother, once she accomplished her dreams, she would pay off her house. Tammy's name was placed on the roll of the United House of Prayer for All People at infancy by her mother. While attending Bridgeport's House of Prayer, Tammy was active in the Youth Department and the annual Convocation Display. Tammy lived life to the fullest! She was outgoing, bubbly, sweet and most importantly always positive. She was a woman born with style and class. She had a walk about her that made you stop and look at her in awe. She was a fashion diva who loved a good hat. The most important quality we all knew about her was her deep faith and love for God! Tammy was loved by many and everyone that knew her can recall special moments they shared with her. Whether it was from her days being a cheerleader at Harding High School, or silly nicknames she had for family and friends or hearing her infectious laughter that sounded like Heaven. But we will always remember her for her hugs and how much she loved her family. More than anything Tammy's greatest gift was becoming a mother. Her love for her two sons Jeremiah and Jasiah was so beautiful and strong. She taught her boys from a young age about the importance of prayer and having a relationship with God. She always pushed them to be their best and to never give up. She taught them to never let a day go by without thanking God and reading their Bible. Because her Gift of Life was so pure, when you see her boys, you will always see her spirit, her smile and more importantly her pure heart. Tammy leaves to cherish her memory, her sons Jeremiah (12) Jasiah (7); her parents Alaina and Willard Hargrove; four sisters Tonisha, Shaneka (Fernando), Tetrea (Karl) and Tonicca; two brothers Lamont (Kia) and Anthony (Juliet). Two Brothers in love, Michael and Will, Alicia. She had four nephews and four nieces. She had a special relationship with her niece Tyanna whom she affectionately referred to as her Moo-Moo. She leaves two loving Grandmothers, Eunice Sowell and Barbara Belle. She leaves behind a special friend Woody Whitaker. She was predeceased by her father Tony Leonard Belle. Tammy’s family is humongous, she leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends to cherish her memory.
