In Loving Memory of Tommie “Bud” Jackson III April 4, 1960 – June 26, 2026 Tommie “Bud” Jackson III, 66, of Middletown, CT, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026, at Complete Care of Meriden. Bud was born on April 4, 1960, in Macon County, AL. He was delivered into the world by his late grandmother, Hellon Fitzpatrick, to his parents, the late Tommie Jr. and Gertrude Jackson. He was the proud eldest of five children. Tommie was educated in the Middletown Public School System, where he enjoyed running track, playing basketball, and football. Bud was an avid football fan who proudly cheered for the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Philadelphia Eagles. He enjoyed life's simple pleasures, including taking long walks, playing baseball, and listening to down-home, old-school blues. Known for his easygoing nature and smooth demeanor, Bud was a true "smooth operator" who enjoyed sitting back, taking in the world around him, and embracing whatever the day might bring. He was a master griller, known for his one-of-a-kind barbecue spare ribs. He was always ready for a spontaneous road trip and cherished the adventures that came with them. Above all, Bud's greatest joy was his family, whom he loved deeply and wholeheartedly. Bud was reunited in rest with his parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, great-nephew and beloved brother Kelvin Jackson. He leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, survived by: his son Jamere of Middletown, CT, daughter Sherrell (Ali) of Huntersville, NC, granddaughters Kalila and Samiya and grandson Harlan. His one and only sister, Valerie Jackson of Tuskegee, AL; two brothers – Adrian and Cornelius Jackson both of Middletown, CT; nieces and nephews: Kwastina, Debrione, Derrick, Marquis, Carl Jr., William, and Howard; Great nieces and nephews, Aniyah, Amir, Emery, Zy’Mere, Zaiden, Kinsley, Karys, and Kyaire; Uncles – Grady Fitzpatrick Sr., Middletown, CT, Joseph Fitzpatrick and Sentha (Denise) Fitzpatrick of Tuskegee, AL, Eugene Fitzpatrick, Beulah, AL, William (Pearl) Jackson, Middletown, CT; Aunts - Jewell Jones, Cincinnati, OH, Brenda Fitzpatrick, Windsor, CT, Gloria (Clinton) Tolbert, Opelika, AL, Lula Jackson, Middletown, CT, Barbara Jackson, East Hartford, CT, Vera Ellis, Wakefield, VA, Ernestine Willis, Tuskegee, AL and Charlestine Gardner, East Elmhurst, NY. Bud also leaves to cherish his memory a host of extended family, close friends, and his special friends: Brian & Jenni Jones, Steve Wilborne, Valerie Marrow, Cynthia Wilborn, Connie Jackson, Nicole Hunter, Comeletia Drake, Collette Jackson, and Kelly Laurence.
