Teresa Lazarus

CELEBRATION OF LIFE Our beloved mother, daughter, sister, auntie and friend; Teresa (Terri) Diane (Greene) Lazarus, born August 15, 1961, passed away on June 22, 2026. Terri was predeceased by her parents, Holbert L. Green, Betty J. Kennedy Greene, sister - Kassandra L. Denny, and several uncles, aunts and cousins in her parents immediate family line. In 1995 Terri married Jack Lazarus, from this union they were blessed with two daughters; Jacqueline Rose Greene and Diane Latrese Lazarus, of New Haven, CT. In addition to her precious daughters, those who remain to cherish her memory are her siblings: Pamela J. (Charles) Nicholson, Leonard A. Greene, Dana L. Greene, Arnold H. Greene, Khalid (Eric) Chamay, Fayetteville, NC, Tyree Denny Sr., Leesville, SC. Her dear aunt Bobbie (Arthur) Bromell, her goddaughter, Michelle Brown, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Terri was educated in the New Haven public system, graduating from R.C. Lee High School. She later earned her CNA and began working at Yale New Haven Hospital including several CT nursing centers. She also worked for several years at Walt's Cleaners, New Haven, CT; one of her goals was to become a mortician. Terri was a beautiful loving caring person, she loved to nurture her family and friends and make everyone smile and laugh. She often made friends everywhere she went. She was always ready to lend a helping hand whenever there was a need, often taking people into her home until they were strong enough to stand on their own. Although she was failing in health, she never failed to say "how is ... doing, please send them my love" She spent hours on face-time with her two sisters, Pam & Dana talking about everything from attending elementary school in South Carolina to "what's for dinner?" Terri loved to cook, play chess, write poetry and watch Family Feud among many other things. Her favorite colors were red, yellow and blue. loved music, especially gospel (some of her favorite songs are on the program); her introduction to Christ as a young adult was at Ebenezer Chapel, New Haven, under the leadership of the late pastor and founder Walter J. Oliver. Although a great loss to her love ones, Teresa's warm spirit and smile will live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew her.
