Pamela Jones Ashbourne

Pamela Jones Ashbourne known as “Pam or PJoi” to family and friends was born on August 24, 1962 in Middletown, CT to the late Thelma Holley and Amar Vereen. She peacefully and happily departed this life on Sunday, May 4, 2014 on the beach in Panama City, FL. Pam was raised in Middletown, CT and attended Shiloh Baptist Church and Bethel Apostolic Church in Middletown, CT. She loved God as a child and throughout her adult years. Her smile and warm heart was always readily available to any and everyone who came in contact with her. Pam had both professional and personal accomplishments throughout her life. She graduated from Middletown High School, where she was a Tiger Mascot. She loved sports and played softball for both Middletown and Meriden teams. She was a season ticket holder for the Atlanta Falcons and always supported her family and friends in their sporting events. When her daughter attended Lincoln Middle School, Pam created and formed the Multi-cultural Club which helped under privilege kids recognize and reach their potential. Pam attended Central Connecticut State College receiving her BA. After the death of her mother in 1996, she moved to Stone Mountain, GA where she furthered her education and received her BS from Shorter University in Lithonia, GA. She started her career at Aetna Life Insurance Company as an Underwriting Consultant. Upon moving to Georgia, she was employed by Price Waterhouse Cooper and Well Point as a Senior Underwriting Consultant until her death. In 2007, Pam married William Ashbourne and they moved to Montgomery, AL. They joined Antioch Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess, on Trustee Board, and the Praise Dance Team. God has truly called one of His angels home as her work here on earth is finished. Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn but most of all to cherish her memories, a daughter and son-in-law, LaQuana and Bradley Angus and their 2 children, Caleb and Tianna of Snellville, GA; of the home in Alabama, 2 step-children, Kaseama and Kareem Ashbourne, step-son, Amar Ashbourne of Peachtree City, GA; honorary daughter, Shalene Vereen of Snellville, GA, 2 brothers, Brian (Jeani) Jones of McDonough, GA, and Mark Brown of Schenectady, NY, 3 sisters, Eva Shorter of Snellville, GA, Carmela (Julius) Jones of Stone Mountain, GA, Sharon Vereen of Snellville, GA, honorary sister, Lenora (Johnny) Webb of Ellenwood, GA, Gennell Holley of Middletown, CT, 8 aunts, 6 uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Stewart Holley, Sr and Lillie Rankins Anthony, Jessie and Lucille Vereen.
