Mary Miller

Mary Miller was born February 28, 1928 in a small town called Salters, SC to parents Adam and Adline Jackson who were called home many years ago. Mary moved to New Haven, CT and that is where she met her one and only true love Edward Miller better known as Jim or Dim by his oldest granddaughter that truly adored him. Mary never re-married after Jim’s death, there was no one that could ever replace him in her heart. Mary was pre-deceased by sisters, Sissy Jackson, Dewey Jackson, Toy (aka Cenna) Jackson, Francine (aka Minchey) Jackson, Rachel Kirkland, Adline Jackson and brothers James Jackson and Adam Jackson II. Also, her best friend Laura Mason. Mary leaves behind many that loved and adored her. Although Mary never had children biologically, she took in her niece at a young age and she considered her to be her very own, the daughter she never had. With that she leaves behind her daughter Joyce Renee Talton (Frederick). Three granddaughters’, Percenna Durham (Steve), Requell Traynham (Jim) and Denielle Traynham. Two grandson’s, Joshua Talton Sr. and Rickey Traynham III. She leaves behind 8 great grands, Joshua Talton Jr., Sy’rai Talton, Nakoze Talton, Avery Wankowicz, Dawson Talton, Loyal Talton, Rylie Traynham and Cameron Wankowicz. She leaves behind two goddaughters, Kathy Talton and Terry Stewart. She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary worked in factories the majority of her life as a seamstress. After retirement she begin to get bored with just staying home and decided to get a job doing home healthcare. That is what she did until her arthritis decided she needed to take a break. Mary loved God and everyone that knew her knew that. She was a member of Walk of Faith Church for majority of her life. Mary was a kind woman; she would give until she couldn’t give anymore and even then, she would still try to give. Mary wasn’t a woman of many words but when she spoke, she spoke truth, she spoke knowledge, she spoke positivity, she spoke encouragement, she spoke wisdom into you. She was solely about family; family made her happy. She would help any family member she could and took many in without hesitancy. Thanksgiving was a holiday Mary dedicated to her family and by no means were you able to miss coming over to eat. Mary loved the color green, that was her “favorite right color” as she called it. Not many knew her passion was baseball… Go Yankee’s!!! That is the only time she would stay up late is if her Yankee’s were playing because anything else on tv just wasn’t worth it and could wait until the next day. Outdoors made her happy, that’s where she found her quiet place. She has been called home to be our angel. Mary, we love you and you can breathe easy now. It’s on us now to pass on the love and grace you passed on to us!
