Legend Walker

Baby Legend (affectionately known as fat man) entered our lives on September 5, 2021. His warm and bubbly personality would brighten any room. He was the essence of joyfulness and life. He was a true blessing to our family and everyone who encountered his smile and giggles. Legend, enjoyed watching kid shows, playing with his iPad and family time. His number one show was "word party". He knew every scene, episode, and song. He would dance throughout the entire show. There is nothing like a mother’s love. He showed this every day. His face was always full of joy. He enjoyed taking selfies, doing tiktok videos with her, and showing her his dance moves or just cuddling. He loved his time with his dad. He would run to him so that he can flip him all day. That was his daily routine. He would jump on his dad until he flipped him numerous of times and play with him as soon as he wake up or just cuddle. He enjoyed his daily walks to the park with his parents. Besides spending time with his parents, Legend love to visit his Gammy Trese house, that was his special place to go. There, he would see his other relatives and hang out with his aunty Khloe. They were kind of like Besties. They would take pics soon as he walked through the door, start playing with his toys, and being silly. Peek-a-boo was their favorite game to play. Legend got a kick out of that game. Legend, had a favorite chair at his Gammy house. The only place he would sit. It was Curious George something like a big teddy bear. He would show everyone who walked in the house his chair. Often he love to pick up his chair and throw it at his pop pop (Marco) to get him to play with him. He would laugh like he was having the time of his life. Legend, love to stack blocks, paint, and draw with his markers. He would stack his blocks as high as they would go until they fall over and he would rebuild it every time. He enjoyed playing with his cousin McKenna. She would do whatever he wanted to do. They would sit in the middle of the floor and play until he leaves to go home. Legend was the joy of our lives. He will truly be missed. Legend suffered from a rare genetic disease called Gaucher 3. He was recently diagnosed back in July 2023 following a dramatic respiratory incident. The disease affects the organs, cardiovascular, and respiratory system which weaken the muscles and makes it harder to breathe, cough things up, or swallow. Although legend was doing well, internally the disease was causing him to be very ill in a way that was hard for ourselves and medical staff to physically see. Which made his death traumatic and unexpected. He leaves to cherish his memories: His mother Alysia, Nigretti and father Theo Walker, of Hamden, CT ; his older brother, Aiyden Walker. His maternal grandmother, and grandfather, Latreese Bass Atkinson and Dimarco Atkinson SR. of Hamden, CT. His paternal grandmother and grandfather Mary Lou Walker, of Mountain, GA, and Charles Jackson JR, of New Haven, CT. his paternal great grandmother, Mary Walker of Hamden, CT. His maternal special Aunts, Lena Desanto, Brittany Gaetano, and Victoria Khloe Pergee of Hamden, CT. His maternal great aunt Michelle Desanto, Perrotti, (George) East Haven, CT. His paternal special Aunts, Ruth Walker of Mountain, GA and Shana Jackson of New Haven, CT. His maternal uncles Earl E hobby, JR., Letrell Hobby, and Victor leon pergee JR. of Hamden, CT, and Dimarco Atkinson, JR. Of Waynesboro GA. God parents Janet Green-Rosado and Jose Rosado. Special cousins, McKenna Atkinson, Richard, Mason JR. & Kamari Davis. At the request of Mom and Dad, viewing will be a brief private meet for immediate family only. ~Poem~ if ever there is a tomorrow, and we are not together there is always something you must always remember, you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think, but the most important thing is, even if we are apart, I am always with you. -Winnie the Pooh- Additionally, The family would like to thank Yale New Haven Hospital’s Pediatrics Department. YNHH PICU (entire team of, doctors , nurses, care associates, respiratory therapist, social work, lab, specialty teams etc.) for the extraordinary care that they provided during Legend’s stay in July. They were very patient with him. They showed empathy, compassion, and they went above and beyond to provide the best quality of care for Legend and our family. We would also like to thank the YNHH emergency department, AMR paramedics and Hamden fire (who heroically responded immediately), for the care they provided to Legend and the family during his final moments of life. Finally, McClam funeral home for providing the best services for our family. To each and everyone who submitted cards, kind words, phone calls and sent your condolences during this difficult time.
