Latoya Glasper

Latoya Lashay Glasper also known as “ Toya G” transitioned to be with the Lord June 11th, 2022. She was born on a beautiful Saturday at Yale New Haven Hospital on October 13th, 1979 to her parents Stephanie Glasper and Kenneth English in New Haven, CT. Latoya grew up in the church and developed her own relationship with the Lord. She strongly valued the importance of having a close relationship with GOD and instilled this value in her children. Latoya loves her children, also known as the “Fabulous 5”, unconditionally. She was determined and motivated to provide the best life possible for them. She had a compassionate personality seen through her genuine love, altruistic intentions, and constant positive spirit. She would put other people's needs before her own. Her soul was very nurturing, which allowed others to naturally gravitate towards her. Latoya was simply unapologetically herself and she raised her children to be the same. Latoya was highly educated and loved to learn. She graduated from Career High School in 1998 where she was “Miss Career High”. She went on to earn an Associate in Science from Gateway Community College and a Bachelor of Arts from Southern Connecticut State University. She was a graduate student at SCSU in the Master of Science in Public Health Program. Latoya dedicated her 22-year working career at Yale New Haven Hospital assisting and supporting others’ needs both physical and emotional. She was very excited about her new job working for the City of New Haven’s Department of Public Health as a community health worker. She was also a realtor with Keller Williams Realty Partner. Her colleagues knew her as full of life, genuine, and well respected. Latoya was an avid member of the community who enjoyed giving back through her partnership with Resilient Legacy, LLC. She is also a founder of Momma’s Love Charity and created a legacy of service for her children. Latoya was on the board for New Haven Scholarships Board of Directors. She was also a founding member of Millionaire Mindset Sisterhood and a member of Bereavement Care Network Inc. She was a former drill team member of MOB Squad and loved to dance. Her bright smile and vibrant positive energy were contagious in any room. Latoya is survived by her mother, Stephanie Glasper (Fayetteville, NC); Children, Ahndiya (22), Zyiara (19), Jawuan (18), Dasani (15), and Jahzaria (11), all of New Haven, CT; Siblings, Demont English, Shaquille Glasper, Moniece Glasper, Kwanmaine Glasper, all of New Haven, CT; Stephan Boomer of Fayetteville, NC; Nieces, Tanyla Brown, Charm English; and Nephew, Jazreal English, along with a host of many family and friends Latoya was predeceased by her sister Kendraya Glasper, Grandmother Hazel Glasper, and father, Kenneth English. She was the beacon of light for her family who led by example for all to follow. Her relentless love for her family and friends can be seen in every moment of her life. Her encouraging words and congratulatory remarks will forever be missed.
