Joseph Miller

Jospeh R. Miller, 67 of New Haven CT entered into Eternal rest on February 11, 2025 peacefully at his home. Joseph was the son of the late Geraldine “Gerry” and Joseph “Bojak” Miller, Sr he was born on April 13, 1957, in New Haven, CT. Joey Attended the New Haven Public School System and was a Graduate of Wilbur Cross Highschool Class of 1975. He was previously employed By Pratt & Whitney where he dedicated 34 years of his life as a Final Inspector and later retired. Joey participated in the company’s bed race” yearly and played baseball and basketball for the company’s league teams. Outside of family life, Joey held a profound passion for bowling. Anyone who knows him knew Sundays were dedicated to bowling. Joey was a league member for over 30+ years and enjoyed bringing his children and grandchildren along with him to watch and learn the sport he loved so much. The legacy of all that knew Joey is one of love, laughter, kindness, and someone who did not bite his tongue. He was always willing to help and would give the shirt off his back if he had to. Joey touched the lives of many, He was the life of the party in any room he entered which left a lasting impression on all who knew him and did not know him. He will be remembered for his “smart jokes,” always making people laugh, and his selfless acts of kindness towards anyone who needed him. Joey’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all. Joey’s leave’s to cherish in his memories his son Michael “Shamar” Portee of New Haven; His daughters Tasheen Miller of Meriden, Stacey Cooper, Tiara Miller-Ciceron (Stephan), Deanna Miller, and Tamika Cooper all of New Haven, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and god-children.Joey was survived by his siblings, Charles Miller of California, Joanne Watts, Elizabeth Miller, Kim Jones (Roy) and Jacqueline Miller all of New Haven. Joey was predeceased by his maternal grandparents William and Lillian Baines his paternal grandparents Charles and Blanche Miller and a sister Lillian Miller. A memorial service to honor Joey's life will be held on February 28 at Saints Aedan and Brendan Catholic Church 112 Fountain street New Haven CT 0651554
