Jarvis Maurice Caddell

Jarvis M. Caddell was born on December 20, 1974, in New Haven, CT, to Fannie Caddell and Jimmie Green. Jarvis peacefully gained his wings surrounded by his loving family and close friends on September 10, 2025. Jarvis was educated in the New Haven Public School System and graduated from Wilbur L. Cross High School, where he met his life partner, Sharon Moore. He worked for McVac for many years and later worked for Environmental Services until he became ill. He had a larger-than-life personality that left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He was known to his friends as J Black. Jarvis was a devoted son, father, brother, uncle, and cousin. His love for his family was endless. Jarvis had a heart full of generosity and warmth, and his presence made every family gathering brighter and more joyful. He was the life of the party, whether it was at a summer cookout or a simple family get-together. He would always be found by the grill, cooking hamburgers and hot dogs for whoever walked in the yard. His love for cooking was matched only by his passion for spending time with those he loved the most. His laughter and stories filled the air, making everyone feel welcome and cherished. Jarvis wasn’t just known for his grilling skills. He was also a master and a wiz of spades. He had a true passion for playing cards. Jarvis was the “UNDISPUTED KING” of Spades, and his partnership with his mother, Fannie Caddell, was legendary. Together, they could read the cards and predict their opponents every move. It was a special bond between a mother and her son. In their voices, “Who wants to get beat next?”. Let’s not forget his loyalty to his favorite NFL team (The Patriots). Jarvis was a true Patriots fan at Heart. He looked forward to watching Sunday and Monday night football with his nephews. He had a way of making everyone feel special, especially his female cousins. He would secretly tell them they were the favorite. It became a family joke, but it reflected his true gift by making everyone feel unique and loved. Throughout his life. He had a deep admiration and love for his brother Pep. A bond that remained strong, “I am my brother’s keeper” was the words Pep lived by when it came to Jarvis. Jarvis leaves to cherish his memory his loving Mother, Fannie Caddell, his loving sons, Jarvis Jr. and Jaiden Caddell, two bonus daughters, Britney Edwards and Nicole Moore, as well as his precious grandson, Jari Caddell, and bonus grandchildren Tre’lon, Jaquan, Darnell Jr, and his precious Laila. Brothers, James (Darlene) Lacey, Calvin Burney, and Jimmy Lee Moore; Sisters, Michelle Newton, Delores Burney and Chrystal Moore; life partner Sharon Moore, God-Mother, Ella Smith, 2 aunts, 3 Uncles as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Jarvis was predeceased by his father, Jimmy Green; sisters Priscella Lacy and Pamela Caddell; his Grandmother Dina Lacy. Jarvis will truly be missed by all.
