Janie L. Marion Riddle

Mother Janie Lou Marion-Riddle was born on July 7, 1938 in St. Stephens, South Carolina to the late Thomas Jordan and Lula Graham. She transitioned from this life on September 19, 2016 at the age of 78, to be with the Lord. In 1955, She graduated from Russellville High School in South Carolina, being an outstanding basketball player. Mother Janie Lou Marion Riddle was married to the late Henry Nathaniel Marion in 1956, from this union they were blessed with six children .In 2001, she married Alonzo Riddle. Janie was employed by Picker International Inc. and then held a leadership position at Unholtz Dickie Surgical for several years until retirement. She was a faithful and devoted member of St. James Unity Holiness Church for 40 years under the leadership of the late General Bishop Coward. She served as a member of the Senior Choir, President of the Missionary Department, Church Announcer and church nurse, being so stylist that the late General Bishop Coward nicknamed her “Model”. In 2000, she joined Good Shepard Church under the leadership of Pastor Rebecca Streater and was elevated to a Church Mother. Mother Janie Marion Riddle could illuminate a room with her heartfelt smile, laughter and readiness to serve the Lord. She was an avid basketball fan and was always willing to lend a helping hand, or ready to sing in the house of the Lord. One of her favorite songs were “ What More Can He Do” and her favorite saying , “God Did It.” Mother Janie Lou Riddle leaves to cherish loving and lasting memories.: Alonzo Riddle, Meriden , Connecticut. Five daughters: Cassandra (Charles) Gresham; Senioa, Georgia; Cynthia Watkins, Wanda A, Marion, Willadean Marion, Regina Marion all residing in New Haven, CT; One son: Steven (Wanda) Marion; Hamden, CT. One brother in- law Philip (Dorothy) Marion; Seattle, Washington. Four sister in- laws: Albertha Davis and Dorothy Faber residing in South Carolina; Pearl(Myles)Meredith and Elouise(Lorenzo)White residing in Pennsylvania. Sixteen Grandchildren: Tywan, Taquita, Joey, Mashonda, Lowanda, Brittany, Courtney, Ashley, Cordell, Shanice, Jeremiah, Tamara, Arthur Jr, Armani. Six great-grandchildren, a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, friends, and church family. She was also predeceased by three sisters: Annabell Burch Gregg, Geneva Smalls, and Christine Jordan and one brother Thomas Jordan Jr. Five goddaughters and one predeceased goddaughter Althea Marion.
