Harold Agnew Jr.

Harold Alexander Agnew, Jr. was born May 18, 1968 in New Haven, CT. He departed this life on Monday, May 25, 2020 at home. He was 52 years old. He lived his life to the fullest. Harold was the son of Patricia F. Douglas and Harold Agnew, Sr. both of New Haven. Harold was educated in the New Haven Public School system and was a graduate of Wilbur Cross High School. He was also an alumni of the New Haven Boys and Girls Club. “Stro” as he was lovingly known, was a sports fan from childhood. He played soccer for New Haven Park & Rec, baseball at Criscuolo Park and football for Cross. He also enjoyed the Sunday Morning games with his friends at Grand Light. As a pastime, Stro enjoyed playing cards and going to the casinos. Harold always had strong work ethics, from camp counselor to McDonald to Stop & Shop Warehouse until closing. He also worked for ProPark as security. Stro touched everyone he came in contact with. He was a very given person, who was always willing to help anyone he met. His willingness to help others encouraged him to start his own car repair business as well as doing various handy man jobs throughout the city. Harold was a devoted son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend, but most of all, he was an “AWESOME” father to his children. He was a dad that loved his children to the highest. He was a “Girl Dad” and was just as close to his sons. He also shared a close bound with his grandchildren. They all loved their Pop-Pop. Harold leaves to cherish his memory his mother Patricia Douglas, Father Harold Agnew Sr., his wife Gina Boyd, His children Caprina, Denise, Harold III, Daryl, Destiny Agnew all of New Haven, CT. and Nia Agnew of East Haven, CT. Four grandchildren TayJon Gray, Taylor Austin, Rayshon Caple and Zaniya Agnew all of New Haven, CT. Brothers Wilbert Cannon Jr. (Shanesha), James Douglas, Jr. all of New Haven, CT. and Alex Agnew of MA. Sisters Aleka Manning and Alicia Mosley both of New Haven, CT. God-daughter LeShea Blue, God-sisters Pecolia and Daphne Holloway, Maternal Aunt Roslyn West and Paternal aunt Jeannie (Alfred) Arnold, Uncles Jesse (Betty) Agnew, Beannie (Dorothy) Agnew and Purnell Flulton along with step daughter Shannon Boyd. Harold was predeceased by his maternal grandmother Essie Mae Williams, both paternal grandparents, step-father Willie “Babay” Douglas, brother Tyrone McCray and best friend James Arthur Staton. The family of Harold “Stro” Agnew wishes to extend sincere heartfelt gratitude for all expressions of kindness shown to our family during our time of bereavement.
