Evangelist Sadie Emily-Holley McDew

On April 21, 2017, as the sun filled the morning clouds with its bright light, Evangelist Sadie Emily-Holley McDew answered the Divine call of Glory and was carried away by the arms of her heavenly father into her eternal home and blessed place of rest. Evangelist Sadie Emily Holley was born February 29, 1932 to Lorenzo Rankins and Martha Holley in Bertie County North Carolina. Evangelist McDew was educated in Powellville, North Carolina and graduated at C.T. White High School. Later, after raising her children, Evangelist McDew majored in Early Childhood Education at Bucks County Community College in Newtown, PA and continued her education at Middlesex Community College in Middletown, Connecticut. Evangelist McDew was the proud wife of Deacon James McDew, proud mother to her seven children, three step children, niece, nephew and God-daughter alike. It doesn’t go without saying that she loved her family; she was especially excited about all of her grands and great grands. If one were ever to have the opportunity to visit her home, they could attest to the walls filled with many family pictures. McDew first accepted Christ at the age of twelve at the Asland Baptist Church in Colerain, North Carolina. Later to reaffirm her faith, she received the infilling of the Spirit (Holy Ghost) and baptism in the water in Jesus’ Name. During her pilgrimage through life, she was blessed to have served under many great leaders and confidants whom were instrumental in her spiritual growth and acceptance of her call to Evangelism. She was an enormous witness for Christ with an awesome testimony to others. Evangelist McDew enjoyed attending her bible studies and weekly worship services. During, her past 6 months being home bound, she never stopped praising God. It wasn’t long before she became a fan of several known television evangelists; Bishop T.D. Jakes, Pastor John Gray and the television telecast of Pastor Jimmy Swaggert. She also loved crocheting, knitting and when younger, making ceramics. Praise God for the victory Evangelist Mc Dew gained over her earthly body! She was surely released from the awaking toils of life and is now asleep, awaiting the great trumpet sound and return of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson Brandon T. Harris- Crouch. Evangelist McDew leaves to cherish in her loving memories three daughters, Cynthia(David) Franklin, Fayetteville, North Carolina, Carolyn (Archie) Crouch Willingboro, New Jersey and Mary (Eddie) Gaskins, Middletown, Connecticut two step-daughters, Sonji Intagliata (Paul) West Hartford, Connecticut, Tammi Mc Dew, Dallas Texas, Catherine Thomas, Robeling, New Jersey. Four sons, Elijah Rankins Jr., Trenton, New Jersey, William Rankins( Michelle) Margate, Florida, Carl Rankins, Middletown, Connecticut, Asa (Bridget) Rankins, Northeast, PA, Raidner(Sue) Leary, Meriden, Connecticut, one stepson Omar Mc Dew, New Britain, Connecticut. One sister, Jessie Smith (Wilbert), Bristol, Pennsylvania, One god sister, Patricia Mayo (Solomon) Stone Mountain, Georgia, One god daughter, Margaret (Timothy) Mullins, Cromwell, Connecticut. Twenty-six grandchildren, thirty-eight great grands and one great-great-grand, nieces, nephews relatives and friends.
