Billy Lee Pressley

Billy Lee Pressly, 72, born to the late Pauline and Allen Palmer entered into eternal rest on November 11, 2017 surronded by his children and loved ones. Billy Lee was adopted and raised by his parents Sara Elizabeth and Walter Pressly. Billy attended Chopee High School. After reaching the 12th grade, Billy had to leave school to help his father on the farm. At the age of 16, Billy moved to Middletown, CT with his sister Magaline Pressly. In 1963 he moved to New Haven, CT where he met the love of his life, Shirley Lewis. When he saw her, he asked his brother, who is that? The two remained together until she transitioned to Glory. Billy was employed at Seaman’s Rubber Co. for 4 years. He left there for better employment in 1965 as a machinist operator and a forklift driver at Simkins. He was employed there for 36 years until he retired in 2004. Billy was a member of Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church from 1962-2007. He was a Deacon on the Trustee Board, faithful to the ministry. In 2008 Billy met Bishop Frankie Carmichael after the passing of his life companion Shirley Lewis. He started visiting Kingdom Love Center Ministries where he also met Dr. Kim Carmichael. Fell in love with their ministry in 2008. When the doors of the church opened, He joined and was faithful up until the time of his passing. He loved the Lord and he loved the pastors. His favorite line was “Aw man, they’re bad to the bone.” Affectionately known to the ministry as Dad Pressly. He loved the Lord and you would often hear him say “Yes Sir Lord” or “Thank you Jesus, Yes Sir Lord”. He leaves to cherish his memory, (3) sons; William Green of Germany; Richard Lewis (Betty) and Leon Lewis (LeeAnn), both of New Haven, CT. And (1) daughter; Beatrice Lewis of New Haven, CT. (10) grandchildren and (13) greatgrandchildren. (2) special friends, Eldress Sharon and Webster Moore. He is also survived by (2) adopted sisters, Magaline Pressly and Maybell Jackson both of Middletown, CT and (1) adopted brother; Bobby. (4) biological brothers; Leroy, Roosevelt, Larry and Elder Benjamin Palmer, all of Hemingway, SC. He was predeceased by (3) biological sisters; Sara, Annie Mae and Bell. (4) biological brothers; James, Jr., Harry Joe, Arthur and Herbert Joe. Dad Pressly was loved by many and will be greatly missed
