Arthur Mabry Jr.

Midday on Thursday May 28, 2020 at precisely 2:46 post meridiem our Father in Heaven sanctioned the return of his son to rest infinity in his Heavenly home subsequent to enduring a long battle with cancer ; transitioning peacefully from this realm. Arthur Lee Mabry Jr. was born on May 11, 1946 in Salters,South Carolina to parents Arthur and Emma Chandler Mabry, Sr. He was the fourth of seven children and the youngest boy. I’m the midst of coming g of age he moved north to New Haven,Connecticut treading on the hills of his older siblings and found a job working construction at CT Laborers in which he labored for forty years before retiring. “Art Junior” the pseudonym he was giving by family and friends met and married the former Patricia Pritchard and together they welcomed four children. He not only had an affinity for fishing but he loved watching Old Westerns as well as sojourning on Dixwell Avenue with the fellas observing the bustle and hustle of the historic locale which was perpetually inundated with a diverse group of characters; he also relished conversing with relatives when attending family events. He will be remembered for his infinite smile, his very unique vernacular, his infamous rhetoric which he quoted quite often,” everyone is always trying to take my money” which consistently garnered laughter from his family; these gestures indubitably will not be forgotten. Those left to cherish his memory are his present spouse Mrs. Roberta Mabry alone with 4 stepchildren. Per his ancestral lineage he leaves behind four biological children Janet, Theresa, Arthur Glen and Sarah Mabry all of New Haven. He was further blessed with nine grandchildren Michael, Rosheida, Tiffany, Carolyn, Damian, Arthur Glen IV, Loneisha, Courtney and Anton. Additionally he was blessed with seven great grandchildren establishing four generations of Mabry pedigree . He also leaves behind to surviving siblings Lillie Bell Dotts(Joseph) of South Carolina and Bertha Lee Wise of Nee York. He was predeceased by his parents, siblings Norma Lee Salters, James Mabry, Carrie Riggins, Hallie Beatty, and grandson Daron Mabry. The family wishes to thank everyone who called, sent a card, or simply uplifted them up in prayer. And lastly due to the presence of the “COVID-19 pandemic” there will not be a repast at this time.
