Anton Coger Sr.

Anton Levon Coger, Sr., 30, of New Haven, CT unexpectedly passed away on October 1, 2022. Anton was born on January 7, 1992, to Putrina Brooks and the late Anthony Lee Coger, Sr. in New Haven, CT. He attended the New Haven public schools and graduated from Hill House High School in 2010. After graduating, Anton went on to enlist in the United States Army National Guard, where he served for a total of four years before his unexpected death. While serving in the National Guard part-time, Anton was employed with Mama Mary’s as a faithful, loyal, and dedicated service worker. In 2012 and 2016, Anton went on to have two beloved children, Anton Levon Coger, Jr. and Paisley Coger. Anton was a kind, loyal, passionate person. His ability to brighten up a room with his infectious laughter and vibrant smile captured the hearts of many who knew him. There was never a dull moment with Anton. Though he was faced with many challenges which he overcame, he continued to encourage others. He was a true warrior with a fighting spirit and a pure heart. He loved his family and friends, and now he is watching over us in Heaven. Anton was predeceased by his father, Anthony Lee Coger, Sr.; his paternal grandfather, Jessie L. Coger, Sr.; his maternal uncle, Sherrod Robinson; and his Godmother, Sheron Marks also known as Darlin. In addition to his children, he is survived by his mother, Putrina Brooks (Willie C.); his sisters, Taishi Barber (Michael), Terran Brodie (JeVaughn), Janelle Moorer, Ashley Mcquillar, Keshia Palmer, and Brittney Brooks; his brothers, Anthony L. Coger, Jr., and Kendall Moorer; his most well-liked auntie, Corina Robinson, his maternal grandparents, Willie and Shirley Robinson; and his paternal grandmother, Loraine Coger. Anton had a special love for his niece, Maiya Barber; nephew, Kamren Walker; and cousins, Brian Ward, Jayquan Manley, Chineshia Robinson and Nikko Squeglia. Anton had many friends that he loved and who were more like brothers to him, Ronald Bundy, Kris Jones and Joe Lambert. He loved his extended family, Mother, Arlene Gifford and her husband; and his best female friend, Nyre’ Gifford. Lastly, he is survived by a host of other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
