Verline Woodhouse Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mother Verline Woodhouse of New Haven passed on August 3, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born on November 30, 1942 to the late Brother Alexander Woodhouse and the late Eldress Louise Woodhouse Edwards. Mother Verline worked over 40 years at SNET until it became SBC and retired before it converted to AT&T. She was the first African American female to be a Circuit Design Tech for SNET. She graduated from the University of New Haven. She was a devoted member of The Supreme Council of the House of Jacob since the age of 6. Mother Verline was blessed to be elevated to the rank of Mother and held many offices, titles, and positions during her lifetime as a member of the church. At the time of her demise, she was a loving mother spiritually and naturally. Mother Verline was also a caring and affectionate single parent to a host of foster children in the surrounding areas of New Haven and Hamden. The lord blessed her to be able to adopted several children over the years. In addition to her generous spirit she exemplified a true meaning of an "Angel". Mother Verline opened her home to whoever was in the need of food or shelter. She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Emeth Solomon, Lamar Woodhouse, Michael Woodhouse, Nikki Woodhouse, Natasha Woodhouse-Rudel, Marya Woodhouse, Kyrstal Woodhouse, Dawn Taylor and Nataya Anderson. Her sister-in-law, Eldress Lois Woodhouse from Atlanta GA, 17 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by two brothers, two sisters, and a granddaughter.
