Reather Kinsey

October 23, 1923 - February 2, 2021

On February 2nd 2021, our Matriarch/Queen Missionary Mrs. Reather Boomer-Kinsey age 97 received her wings. Reather was born on October 23, 1923 to the late Mr. Easton and Starrie Hollaway – Boomer in Arapahoe, North Carolina. Reather attended Pamlico County School in Arapahoe, NC. In 1949, she left North Carolina shortly after getting married in search of better opportunities. She worked various jobs until she retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in the 1980’s. After retirement, Reather Boomer-Kinsey began full-time missionary work for the lord. Visiting hospitals, nursing homes, calling the sick and shut in. She truly loved educating people about the lord, especially those who walked past her home. She leaves to cherish her memory: Four sons, Dalma Artis Kinsey (Betty), James Kinsey of Hamden, CT. Larrie Kinsey, Preston Dennis Kinsey of New Haven, CT. Sisters, Mrs. Thanie Clark of New Haven, CT and Mrs. Vicie Gates of Satellite Beach, FL and Rev. Bennie Gates of Satellite Beach, FL. Sister-in-laws Mrs. Hazel Wright (Robert) of New Haven, CT and Mrs. Crystal-Bell Kinsey of Arapahoe, NC. She also leaves to cherish her memory grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins’ and a host of family and friends. As well as her special cousin Mr. Herbert Pearson and special family friend Malinda Cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Mr. Preston Kinsey Sr., sons Johnnie Kinsey, Sylvester Kinsey, and daughter Linda Kinsey-Davis, and grandson Leroy Davis Jr., sisters Mrs. Annie Taylor, Mrs. Marie Jones, Mrs. Attley Coward, brothers James, Oliver, Roosevelt, Hiland, and Saunder Boomer. Psalm 55:6 “I said, oh, that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly away and be at rest.”
