Matilda Roman

March 14, 1940 - April 16, 2022

Matilda E. Roman entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was born in New Haven, CT on March 14, 1940, a daughter of the late Brian Gibson and Ruth Dawson. Matilda attended and graduated high school in the New Haven public school system. Matilda was employed as a Home Health Aide until her retirement. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Domin Roman; three sons, James Dawson of New Haven, CT, Doming Roman of Florida and Juan Roman of New Haven, CT; four brothers, Willard Ford, Luther Gibson and Todd Gibson all of New Haven, CT and Henry Gibson (Lizzie) of Raleigh, NC; five sisters, Mattie Wright, Laura Gibson, Annie Gibson and Minnie Gibson all of New Haven, CT and Ruth Brown of Norwich, CT; five grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Bryant Gibson and Calvin Gibson; and one sister, Vera White.
