Katie Francis Smith, 81, was born on July 12, 1940 to the late Lucy (Palmore) Turner in Anniston, Alabama. She was a woman who enjoyed life and was an inspiration to all who loved her. Katie was educated by the Alabama school system. She had a passion for cooking and feeding everyone who walked through her doors, which led to her career as a cook for US Surgical in North Haven, Connecticut until she retired. She was a woman with a loving and giving heart who always encouraged others. She was a member of Holy Ghost Deliverance #2 under the leadership of Bishop LD Pearson. Katie Smith leaves to cherish her memory her children Timothy C. Johnson Sr. and Larry N. Johnson of New Haven, CT, Natalie Johnson of Hamden, CT, and Kathy Johnson of New Haven, CT, 9 grandchildren, Antwan Hailey (Lakei), Christopher Johnson, Rosa Armstrong, Timoneisha Shepherd (husband), a special granddaughter Ashley Alexander, Desmond Johnson, Nathan Johnson, Dwain Johnson, and Christian Johnson, 26 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson, bonus children Denise Cox, Tina Lewis, Barbara Harris, Donnie Andrews and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband William Otis Smith, siblings Archie Butler Sr., James Thomas Butler, Sylvester Butler, and Betsey Council, grandson Timothy Johnson and great-granddaughter Madison Hailey.
