John Wharton IV

October 9, 1955 - April 19, 2022

Minister John Thomas Wharton IV, age 66 has traditioned life on April 19, 2022 at the home he resided at with his wife. John was the son of Marjorie Mae Davis. John was born October 9, 1955, in Winston Salem, N.C. In addition to his mother he was predeceased by his grandfather John Wharton and George Martin Sr., his favorite Aunt, Shirley Bustion and maternal grandmother, Grandmother Edna Martin. John received his education in the public school system of Winston, N.C. After moving to New Haven, CT John then attended The School of Electronics. John began working at Solar Education Corporation for many years after graduating. John then started his career with Popeyes Restaurant, starting as a baker, then he moved to management and retired as supervisor at the New Haven and Hamden Stores. John met the love of his life Linda at an young age while attending high school. They have three wonderful children, Tammy Gardner, Cheronica Gardner and Thomas Gardner all of New Haven, CT. John and Linda have 15 grandchildren and 22 greatgrands. John has 3 sisters Joyce Hogg, Cassandra Boozer and Cheryl Payne, one brother Jeff Boozer, 2 adopted sisters Debra Cole and Hart Conyers. John also leaves behind his adopted brother James Harris, 2 God Children Latisha Gardner Green and Antonio West alone with a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Also a dear close friend Johnny Thomas, his electric football pal of Georgia. Minister John Wharton, gave his life over to God at the age of 41. John became a member of Deliverance Temple Pentecostal Church. Thereafter John was ordained Deacon before he was ordained Minister. John favorite Bible verse came from Romans 8:28. John had many jobs in the church from starting two of the choirs “The Voices Of Deliverance” and “The Men's Choir” to teaching Bible study, something he loved to do. John was a teacher, a preacher and a kind respected Man of God. John was loved by all. John had many hobbies, one of his favorite was playing Electric Football. His most favorable team was the “Los Angeles Rams” John also loved bowling, basketball, and baseball. Minister John Wharton, you will be truly missed. We are honored for the time God allowed you to be with us. Rest peacefully. I Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered to the heads of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that Love him.
