Jennie Mae Edwards of New Haven, Connecticut entered into her Heavenly Rest on July 21, 2022. Jennie Mae Edwards was born on June 27, 1945 in Lake City, SC to the late James and Louise Dickey. Prior to moving to New Haven, Jennie worked in New York City and Boston, MA. Jennie was employed at Yale University Art Gallery until her Illness. She was married to her former husband Alfonzo Edwards and they were blessed with two daughters. Jennie was also blessed with two sons. Jennie was an active and faithful member of Thomas Chapel Church, where she was an usher and sang in the Disciple Choir. Jennie leaves to cherish two sons and two daughters; Joe Dickey of New Haven, Lucille Bray(Darryl) of New Haven, Jennette Taylor of Hamden, CT and a special daughter Lisa Brown of New Haven, CT, two sisters Mary Graham(Ollin) of Lake City, SC and Lue Jean Dickey of Hamden, CT, one brother Jerry Dickey(Mae Ella) of Florence, SC and a step brother James Carter of New York and two God Children Tasheen Salters and James Salters. Jennie also leaves to cherish her memory; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends. Jennie is predeceased by her son George Edwards, a sister Annie Burgess, two brothers Willie Dickey and James Dickey, and a special daughter Gaynl Roberts. Jennie’s presence on earth will be missed by many. To know her is to truly love her. There are many extended family members and friends that can attest to her magnitude of her welcoming and warm spirit.
