George Weston

December 2, 1938 - April 28, 2022

George E. Weston, 83, of Cromwell, CT husband of Lillie Lewis-Weston entered into eternal rest on Thursday April, 28 2022 at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, CT. He was born in Georgetown County, SC, to the late James, Sr., and Tiller (Vereen) Weston. George received his education through the public school system in Georgetown, SC. He relocated to Middletown, CT in the 60's. He worked at Airex Rubber Manufacturing in Portland, CT for 27 years and worked occasionally with his brother James (Duke) in his construction business. He later worked at Bull Meadow in Middletown, CT where he retired from in 2012. George was a dedicated husband and adored his wife, Lillie. The two of them met later in life and nurtured a healthy relationship. Together, they never missed an outing. They had a pact, when one of them speaks the other listens and they promised to never go to bed mad. They were married for 29 years. George joined Zion First Baptist Church in 1992 and was later ordained as a Deacon serving for numerous years. George was an active member of the Men's ministry as well as the Male Choir. George loved to spend his free time fishing, was an avid New York Yankees fan, and enjoyed watching old country Westerns. Knowing George was to know that he possessed an unfiltered sense of humor, and he was never short on words. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Lillie Lewis-Weston; five stepchildren, Samuel(Nympha) Lewis of San Antonio TX, Donald Lewis of Middletown, Sylvia Henderson of Henderson, Nevada, Jacqueline (Howard) Lewis-Ross of Cromwell, Kevin (Laura) Lewis of Kokomo, IN; one brother, John (Emma) Weston of East Hampton, three sisters; Lillie Cain of Middletown, Mabel McKnight of Fort Wayne, IN, Mary (William) Turner of Meriden; Goddaughter Jackie Turner of Meriden; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his brothers James and Adell Weston, his sister Laura Carr and his stepdaughter Jane Loretta Myers.
