Franklin Howard
October 27, 1945 - January 21, 2022
Franklin J Howard – a true family man and friend – passed away peacefully with family by his side on January 21, 2022 in New Haven, CT. Born on October 27, 1945 in Roseboro, NC to the late Annie Mae Howard and Seymour Thompson. Franklin was educated at Charles E Perry High School. He worked for Trailways driving buses across the country and locally driving tractor-trailers for Stop and Shop. While residing in CT, he volunteered as a coach for a girls travel soccer team. The love that he had for his family was unconditional. He was a devout member of his church and gave back to the community by fostering countless children. Franklin loved throwing cookouts for his friends and family in his backyard, spending the day out on the boat fishing, his dogs (especially Rambo), playing spades, German chocolate cake, football (go Giants!), and ordering things off of Amazon that he claimed he did not order. No one could fry a porgy quite like Franklin. His absence will ache in the hearts of his loving wife of 37 years, Harriett E Howard; his children, Marvin (Annie) Howard, Darius (Tamica) Howard, Christopher Ryan (Shaquana) Green, Datania Gregg, Jamal Howard, Jamar Howard, Jime’ra Howard, and Tanaya Howard; his siblings, Yvonne (Alan) Jones, Dolores (Gregg) Logan, Freddie Wall, Janine Marshall, Lottie (William) Hunter; his 10 grandchildren; and his 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by step-father, Ed Walls, and his sons, Jamel Gregg and Omar Gregg. Services will be held at McClam Funeral Home in New Haven, CT on Thursday, January 27, 2022. Calling hours will be open from 12pm to 1pm,
