Donald Myers

July 9, 1962 - February 17, 2021

Donald Michael Myers was born July 9, 1962 in Georgetown, South Carolina. He was predeceased by his father, Mr. Essie Sherald Myers, Sr., mother Etta Dease Myers, his brother, Benjamine Nelson Myers and his sister, Fadie Sue Grier. He joined St. Paul AME Church at a very early age. He graduated from Choppee High School in South Carolina, and then joined the U.S. Navy Seal for 6 years. He later worked for the U.S. Postal Service for more than 34 years. Donald loved working out at the gym. He loved his entire family and the one thing he praised was family. He was a loving peacemaker and kind to all who were blessed to have met or known him personally. Donald NEVER asked for anything nor liked to bother anyone for anything but was always willing to do anything he could for anyone. He Had a heart of gold. He was a brave, strong and hard-working man. He loved laughs and great conversations. In 1993 Donald was joined in holy matrimony to Tonya Regina Wells. Their union was blessed with 5 beautiful children. 2 of his own and 3 he took in as his own and taught them the meaning of family and always sticking together. Donald departed this life on February 17, 2021 at Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven, CT. He leaves to treasure lasting memories, 4 sons and 1 daughter (and their spouses): Essie Myers, Eddie Watford , Michael Wells, Maquel Wells and daughter, Donneisha Myers. He also leaves to mourn his passing a host of siblings (and their spouses): Carol Jean Landry (Paul), Thomasina Lindsay (William Lindsay) of New Haven CT, Android Wright, DavidLena Hill (Donald) of Virginia, Lee Jackson Myers, Sherald Myers (Loubertha), Rayford Myers (Earlena), Priestly Myers (Teresa), Maggie Myers and Donna Myers Ross all of Georgetown, SC; 6 beautiful grandkids he deeply loved and adored with all of his heart; as well as other relatives and friends. He also leaves his closest and dearest best friend and brother, Eddie Corsini
