Creola Langly Williams

December 8, 1935 - December 22, 2021

Creola Langley Williams aka “Coe” is the offspring of two devoted parents: Jim Silas Langley and Margie Ford Langley. She is the second born of the eleven siblings. Creola was born in the Choppee. Community of Georgetown, South Carolina. Five of her brothers and sister preceded her in death: Josiah Langley, Janie Langley Gray, Ernest Langley, Peter Langley, and Anna Langley. At an early age, she accepted the Lord and became a member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. While attending Hopewell, she was a member of the usher board and choir. After transitioning to Middletown, she joined Shiloh Baptist Church and became affiliated with the Trustetes, Senior Choir, and Honorary Mother's Board. She loved her church and the people who were part of Shiloh. After being employed on Myrtle Beach for a few years, she relocated to Middletown, Connecticut. It was here that she met and married her husband. Creola was married to the late Robert Williams who preceded her in death. Her formal education began at Elm Grove Elementary School. After completing elementary and middle school, she attended and graduated from Howard High School in Georgetown, South Carolina. Her work experiences included employment at Raymond Engineer, High View, Aetna, and Friendly. Creola was a very generous individual who reached out her hand, home, and handbag to those she deemed in need. Being the oldest sibling, she was always in charge of the household and all of her siblings. She was granted the title “Boss” by her parent. Creola is remembered as a gentle, loving, and thoughtful soul. She was a people person. Her favorite past-time was cooking. She was renowned for her baking skills and always made sure that homemade desserts were always available at her household. She also enjoyed planting and observing plants/flowers growing, making homeopathic remedies for ailments, spending time with people and performing mission work. During her earthly stay, Creola befriended many people and met many acquaintances. On Wednesday, December 22, 2021, she was called to her eternal home. She leaves to cherish her memory one brother, Eddie Langley (Dorothy), Middletown, CT, and four sisters: Margie Langley Vernon, Hemingway, SC, Lillie Langley Glover, Alexandria, Virginia; Virginia and Velma Langley, Hemingway, SC, a sister-in-law (Lorraine Williams), Detroit, MI, one brother in-law (Nathan Williams) Compton, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews, cousins, friends, and a very special niece Sonya Langley.
