Christine Thomas

October 4, 1930 - February 9, 2022

Sis. Christine Thomas age 91, departed this life suddenly on Wednesday February 9th of 2022 in the comfort of her home. She was born October 4, 1930 in Edgecomb, NC to the late Johhny and Bertha Lee Staton. She married Samuel Thomas Sr. in 1953 and later moved to New Haven. Christine was a faithful and dedicated member of Mt. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the usher board until she was 89 years old. On Sunday morning you would see her at her post with a smile. Christine loved cooking; she made her family meals daily. She loved watching “One Life to Live” and “General Hospital. On Mondays and Fridays, you’d catch her watching wresting and calling Ms Mary Harris to remind her its on. Christine was an awesome mother, grandmother, friend and confidant, she loved her family. She would offer anyone a listening ear and words of encouragement. She was a joy to be around, everyone she encountered loved her. She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters Celestine Thomas and Veronica Price, a Son Samuel (Leona) Thomas, God-daughter Junie Cullum, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Samuel Thomas Sr., children Linda Thomas and James Staton.
