Angela L. Parker
September 13, 1963 - May 29, 2022
Angela Louise Parker (Angie), 58 of New Haven, Connecticut passed away peacefully in her New Haven home on May 29, 2022. She was born in New Haven, CT on September 13, 1963, to the marital union of the late Raymond Parker Sr. and Flora Bell Streater-Parker. Angela attended several New Haven Public Schools and graduated from Wilbur Cross High School in 1981. After graduating, she served as a beloved pantry worker for Yale University and received The Staff Service Recognition Award in 2017 for her 30-years of service. Angela took pride in her career and often considered the Yale University students as “her students.” In 2014, Angela was featured in a New Haven Register news article that spoke to her kind and giving spirit, as she cooked for several Yale students who could not go home for the holidays, despite having limited resources for herself. The article went on to mention her ability to uplift “her students” which did the same for her in return. Angela had a beautiful relationship with God and found comfort from a variety of churches and their members from the surrounding New Haven and Hamden, CT areas. She adored her family and found great joy in the relationship that she had with her grandchildren. She loved to spoil her grandchildren with love and they gave that same love right back. Angela was predeceased by her paternal grandparents Lovett and Helen Parker; maternal grandparents Henry and Dinah Streater; her parents Raymond Parker Sr. and Flora Bell Streater-Parker; and her siblings Charles Glenn (Chally), Michelle Sawyer-Lowe (Missy), and Raymond Parker Jr. (Ray-Ray). Angela’s legacy will be continued by her twin children Tamara DeBerry and Terrell Lewis; her grandchildren Leroy DeBerry III and Aniya DeBerry; and several nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
