William Dixon

William Earl Dixon (Daddy Dixon) was born on August 23, 1945 in Ayden, NC to the late James Arthur Dixon and Maddie Lee Banks. He suddenly entered into rest on May16, 2019 at his home in Hamden, CT. William graduated from South Ayden High School in 1965. He then relocated to Connecticut in 1966, soon after he was united in holy matrimony to Mother Ernesteen (Ethel) Dixon of 53 years of marriage. This union was blessed with two children, Nathan Dixon of Rocky Hill, CT and Ottis Dixon, of Hamden CT. William also leaves behind a niece whom he raised as his own daughter, LaTrease Murray of Hamden CT. He was employed at Hi-Tech Fabricating Inc, Wallingford, CT, where he received numerous certifications in Industrial Education and retired in 2001. William was a long-time member of Mount Calvary Deliverance Tabernacle Church, Hamden, Ct., under the Leadership of the Late Dr. Ardell E. Tucker now presiding under Pastor Robert L Smith IV. He was an active member of the church who became an Ordained Deacon in November 2011. He had a love and desire of knowing God personally and studied at Lion of Judah International Ministries, Hamden, Ct. where he would also receive a Doctor of Theology Degree in 2017 from North Carolina College of Theology, Wilmington NC and later became a Licensed and Ordained Minister in May of 2018. William was a devoted husband, father, uncle, brother in law who adored his wife, children and extended families. He was known as a Spiritual Father and mentor who showed God’s Love to all. He displayed selfless acts such as fixing cars which he loved to do, running errands and spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed cooking and feeding anyone it didn’t matter if he knew you or not. He also loved to sing, listen to music and had a love for western movies. His sense of humor and wisdom would bring light to any situation. Proceeding him in death was his parents, brothers Arthur, Leon Lewis, Prinnis, Edward, Alton, and David Dixon, his great-granddaughter Iriel Shaw and Brother in law Elijah Hammett He is survived by his wife, Ernesteen E. Dixon. 3 Children, Nathan (Rhonda) Dixon, Ottis Dixon, Special Friend Marie Rizzo, LaTrease Murray, Spiritual Daughters Theresa Moore and Tracy Hill, Sisters Pearlie Dixon, Rosa Chapman, Retha ( Samuel) Dixon-Cannon, Lynda Dixon, Brothers James( Dorothy) Dixon, Andrew (Gladys) Dixon, Johnnie (Brenda) Dixon, Bobbie Dixon and Ronnie Dixon , Sisters n Law Janie Hammett and Hattie Moore Hammett, Brothers in law Johnny, Levi, Willis and Sampson Hammett and Walter Prince, 6 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild and a host of Spiritual Families, nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.
