Wanda Moore

Wanda Monique Dawn Moore, Beloved daughter of George & Pearline Moore, entered this world on May 30, 1972. Her relatives and close friends referred to her as Monique. Many affectionately called her Moe. Wanda was a lifelong resident of New Haven, CT. It was in the New Haven school system that she excelled academically, participated in the marching band, and ultimately earned her high school diploma in 1991. She completed CNA training, completed her associates degree from Housatonic Community College, and attended the University of Bridgeport’s Nursing program. Wanda worked hard throughout her life as a dedicated medical professional for many years, including providing over 17 years as a PCA at Yale New Haven Hospital. Eventually, she changed careers to focus on her passion, Human Services. Throughout the years, Wanda held positions at several nonprofit agencies, including her final position for over 10 years at Hartford Health Care. Wanda was a fierce champion for patients' rights and an advocate for individuals with mental health issues. Wanda accepted Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of Way of the Cross Church of Christ International New Haven. She was steadfast in her pursuit of understanding Biblical teachings. Wanda was a generous spirit who never hesitated to help and give back to the community. Wanda loved her family, especially her siblings. She shared a special bound with her brother Jimmy and her sister Crystal. Wanda was a proud aunt and godmother. She invested her time, energy, and resources in the younger generation of her family, fostering their development by ensuring that they were properly educated and that they knew they were loved. Wanda's journey of life ended when she was called to eternal glory on May 15, 2024, after a long illness. She was pre-deceased by her parents (George Moore & Pearline Brown-Moore), her sister Kimberly Moore, her brother George Galberth, and nephew Markeist Alexander. Wanda leaves to cherish her memory Brothers: Jimmy Moore, John-quay Moore, Malcolm Pina, Sisters: Nancy(William)Galberth,Tammie Moore Nina Moore-Wallace, Lakeeta Moore, Crystal Moore, Anola(K-Jay) Smith, Lashonda(Demetrius)Thomas, Nieces:Tawana Galberth, Denise Galberth, Shanique Parker(Goddaughter), Shyreese Gray, Xyeta Smith Nephews: Quayshon Sharpe, Shacore Gibbs(Godson), George Smartt, Xyaire Smith, Kyheem Moore-Horton, Xavier Kearney, Jaylon Pierce. Godchildren: Brittany Jones, Zaneah Richardson, "Bestie": Sarena Huckaby, as well as a host of extended family and friends.
