Ursell Cuttino

In Loving Memory of Ursell Cuttino April 17, 1949 – August 21, 2025 Ursell Cuttino was born on April 17, 1949, in Georgetown, South Carolina, to the late George and Frances Rogers. On August 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in Hamden, Connecticut, she peacefully transitioned from this life. Educated in the Horry County School System in South Carolina, Ursell married the late John Cuttino early in life. Together, they relocated to New Haven, Connecticut, where she made her home until the day she passed. A dedicated and hardworking woman, Ursell devoted over 20 years to her career at KX Industries. Following her retirement, she embraced life to the fullest—traveling on cruises, creating memories on family vacations with her grandchildren, visiting Mohegan Sun Casino, and enjoying her favorite pastimes like getting dressed up and having her nails done. A true fashionista at heart, Ursell exuded style, joy, and confidence in all she did. She was also deeply devoted to her faith and found spiritual nourishment as a regular member of Redeemers Missionary Baptist Church in New Haven, CT. Above all, Ursell was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and joy in the hearts of those who knew her. She is survived by her children: DeAngelo (Sabrina) Cuttino of Hamden, CT; Anthony Cuttino of New Haven, CT; LaTonya Cuttino of West Haven, CT; and Lorraine (Jemell) Rogers-Ormond of Hamden, CT. Ursell was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren and a beloved great-grandmother to five. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family who brought immense joy to her life. Her memory is also lovingly cherished by her sisters, Margaree Rogers and Azalee Davis of Spartanburg, SC; sister-in-laws Willie Bell Rogers of Bucksport, SC, and Arlene Walker of Hemingway, SC, and brother in law Leroy Cuttino of Long Island, NY, bonus sister Diane Williams of Hampton, GA; and dearest friend of over 50 years, Rosetta Reese of New Haven, CT. Ursell was preceded in death by her parents, husband John Cuttino, beloved daughter Darlene Cuttino, sisters Carrie Sumpter and Georgiana Rogers, bonus sister Clara Preston, brothers Leroy, Jimmie, Howard, and Calvin Rogers, as well as three brother-in-laws and two sister-in-laws. Ursell’s legacy of love, strength, faith, and joy lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Her radiant smile, joyful laughter, and warm presence will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
