Talana Hawley-McCullough

Talana DeLise Hawley-McCullough departed this life and stepped into eternity on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, in Hartford, Connecticut. She was born December 16, 1966, in New Haven, Connecticut to Lynda Faye Dawson-Hawley and Frederick Herb Hawley.Talana was educated in the New Haven Public School system graduating from Ricard C. Lee High School. Talana furthered her education in Billing and Coding from Stone Academy in Hamden, Connecticut. She worked various jobs in many capacities in the city of New Haven for many years. In 2011, Talana was united in holy matrimony with her loving husband Lionell McCullough Sr. The two later relocated and settled in North Carolina.Talana was a former member of Uttermost Deliverance and Restoration Ministries and also served on the usher board. She demonstrated a love for Christ through her interactions and love for all.Talana affectionately known as “Lana” loved spending quality time with her husband, family, and friends. Inspired by her love for gospel and R&B music, she also enjoyed traveling and attending concerts at the casino. Talana looked forward to dancing and creating priceless memories with her children and grandchildren. Those who knew Talana describe her as a very humble soul.Talana lived her life to the fullest. She ensured that if anyone needed anything she was there to support. Talana was a wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, and godmother who will always be missed.Talana leaves behind to cherish her loving memory her husband Lionell McCullough Sr., motherLynda Faye Wilson, father Fredrick Herb Hawley, stepfather Denorris Wilson Sr., mother-in-lawDaralese F. McCullough III, Joshua and Jacob McCullough, Micheal and Donnell Blowe. 4 step-granddaughters Nyla and Jaden McCullough, Enise and Carter Blowe. 4 brothers Denorris Wilson Jr. (Tracy), Derrick, Kent, and Anthony London and William Lathrop. 6 sisters Frieda Hawley-Hobson (Mark), Kimberlee Hawley, Colleen Wilson, Rhonda, Laura, and Carla Lathrop. 2 brother-in-laws Jerome McCullough (Katrina), and Corey McCullough (Yazmine). 1 godson Sinciere Lathrop. 2 lifelong friends Selena Edwards and Allison Carter. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.Talana was predeceased in death by her daughter Jamese Nicole Hudson. Maternal grandparents McNeal and Erlia Mae Yates-Dawson. Paternal grandparents Frederick H. and Sarah Ogarita Hawley. 1uncle Benjamin Hawley. 4 aunts Shirley Victoria Dawson, Patricia Ann Dawson, Vanessa Gail Dawson and Bernestine Dawson.To know her was to love her. Talana will be sorely missed by family and friends, near and far. We on earth loved her, but God in heaven loved her best.
