Susie Ford

Mrs. Susie M. Ford was born April 5, 1936 in Lakeview, SC to the late French and Siller Coleman. She was the 9th of 16 children born to this union. She was married to the late James M. Ford Sr. for 44 years, and from that union 4 children. Susie attended school in Lakeview, SC and was a self employed daycare provider from 1959 to 2004. The number of children she cared for during that time is countless, caring not only for children of referred clients but for many children of family members, friends, neighbors and church members, serving some families thru multiple generations. Many adults in their 40’s & 50’s can lovingly claim to have been cared for by ‘Ms. Susie’ or ‘MaMa’ as she was affectionately known by many! She also loved to cook, and she would welcome all who stopped by to a delicious meal!!! Susie joined Mount Calvary Deliverance Tabernacle as a member in 1972, under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. Ardell E. Tucker, and remained a faithful, dedicated member throughout the rest of her life, under the leadership of the current Pastor Robert L. Smith. In 1988, She became a Mother of the church and served in that capacity until her passing. Susie M. Ford answered the Lord’s call to final rest in the early morning of September 11, 2023. She leaves 3 children, Curtis Ford, Dena Rena Patton (Maceo), and Susan Monique Ford to honor and cherish her memories. In addition to her parents French and Siller Coleman, and her husband James Milton Ford Sr., Susie was predeceased by son: James M. Ford Jr.; grandson: Antwone Ford & Jonquay Morrison; siblings: Arsolia Coleman McNeil, Arletha Colvin, Pecolia Coleman, Juliette Bethea, Onietta Ford, Rudolph Coleman, Carson Coleman, F.C. Coleman, Mcdowell Coleman, Jeff Coleman, and General Lee Coleman. Living to cherish her memories are her children: Curtis Ford (Ericka), Dena Rena Patton (Maceo), and Susan Monique Ford; grandchildren: Tymar, Tyquan, Quianna, Eric, Tyrell, Tyrese, Skyelyn, Tyriss, Jeremiah, Justin, Nyree, Trevon; great grandchildren: Nate, Nehemiah, Skylynn, Tyler, TyQuan Jr., Jesiah, Kasey, Quinn, Johanna, Jahnyla, Makenna, Iyana; great-great children: Lleighya and Arayseaha; siblings: Charlie Coleman (Ruby), John Coleman (Betty), Lucille Bethea, Winifred Lee Strickland and Patricia Webb (James); sister-in-law law Ann Reynolds; and one God-son: Marquelle Middleton.
