Sheila Camacho

Sheila "Willa" Camacho was born March 26,1962 to the late Walter Johnson, Jr. and Barbara Lee Barr Johnson in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She was one of ten children that grew up in Father Panik Village. She attended Bridgeport Public Schools, and Lee High School in New Haven, Connecticut. At the age of 15 she moved to New Haven, Connecticut, where she continued to be with her loving family until her earthly departure. Sheila was loving, caring, funny, loved her family, and always made sure her three girls had everything. She was the rock of the family and a hard working woman. She was employed at Hamden Healthcare for over 20 years, enjoyed by her coworkers, and would give her last to help somebody. Her hobbies were rocking in her chair listening to gospel music and playing games on her phone. Some of her favorite artist were Jaylen Carr, Luther Vandross, and Tamela Mann. The Madeia series kept her laughing all the time. Her love for God was evident in her strong faith, and when someone was going through she would say “you gotta have faith and trust in God.” Sheila loved her children and gave everything to make sure her girls were taken care of. Her daily routine included listening to 94.3 fm, and getting her hazelnut coffee from her daughters who were not just daughters, but best friends. She called her grandsons “Boo Boo,” “Pooh,” and “Man” a blessing from God, and enjoyed being a down to earth grandma joking and laughing with them. They were her life. Her favorite colors were green and beige. Cooking was one of her favorite things to do, it was nothing for her to cook a hot meal on a whim, and if she wasn’t cooking, she was cleaning. Her brothers and sisters always had a blast when they got together whether talking on the phone for hours, or being together for family dinners. Dinner didn’t begin until Sheila showed up with that good home cooked food. She loved kickin it back with family. She was a living portrait of a loving woman, and although quiet and private, that was all out the window if you messed with her family. She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughters, Shakena Ann Marie Camacho, Blanca Veronica Camacho, Barbara J Camacho (Jennifer); grandsons, Frederick Isaiah Singh, and Marquis Devon Preston, Jr.; brothers, David Johnson, Walter Johnson III, Kennedy Johnson, and Glen Johnson; sisters, Lillie Woods (Curtis), Priscilla Jones, Carol Giannattassio, Gail Moales (Anthony), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loving family, and friends. She was predeceased by her father, Walter Johnson, Jr. mother, Barbara Lee Barr Johnson, and sister, Barbara Ann Johnson Colon. Family has requested flower donations to be sent to McClam Funeral Home.
