Robin Robinson

Robin Lynn Robinson passed away peacefully December 5, 2020 at Yale Medical Center in New Haven, Connecticut. Robin was born in Middlesex County, Virginia on April 1, 1968 to Sherwood and Barbara Robinson. She was the youngest of their children and even as a small child Robin had an infectious smile and a heart of gold. As a child Robin was a dutiful servant at the Grafton Baptist Church. She had a me- lodic voice and sang in Grafton’s Choir. Robin was educated in the Middlesex County Schools and graduated from Middlesex High School. She attended Norfolk State University before moving to Connecticut. Robin enjoyed loving on people. Anytime she had an opportunity to host and cook; she did just that and enjoyed every moment of it. With her famous Minced BBQ and Fried Chicken (actually any soul food dish your heart desired) she was “Johnny on the Spot.” Robin was an inspired baker and she created many different pastries, cakes and pies. This later inspired her to start her private baking service; where she spent many hours thanks to Betty Crocker. After moving away from Middlesex County to Connecticut; sometimes that good ride back home was what her soul needed. She would laugh and joke and enjoy her siblings and family. Her motto was: “Be kind and help others. The world can always use one more kind person.” She was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, 1 John 4:8 — “Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.” Robin was a caregiver by nature, and she was really good at it. You never had a dull moment in her company; and she made sure by design. She left a distinct mark on the world and will surely be missed! Robin was preceded in death by her mother Barbara Robinson, her father Sherwood Robinson, her brother Antonio Robinson and her grandparents Rebecca and Lorenzo Burrell. Robin is survived by her daughters Courtney Lynn Robinson (Armando Johnson), Chasity Bell, and Gavanna Wilson; her granddaughters Maleigh Robinson, and Zariyah Johnson; her sister Melody Scott; her brother Dwight Burrell (Karen); nieces Lakia Burrell-Cooke (Thomas), and Shawnice Burrell; nephews Dwight Burrell Jr., Tevin Scott, and Maxwell Burrell. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, great nephews, great nieces, very special friends Verta Stevenson and Theresa Williams. All of whom she inspired
