Repete Vereen

Repete Vereen was born on December 25, 1947 in Pamplico, SC to the late Jessie Vereen and Lucille (Gibbs) Vereen. Repete departed this life and stepped into Glory on Sunday, June 14, 2015 suddenly at Middlesex Memorial Hospital, Middletown, Ct. Repete was raised in South Carolina and relocated to Middletown, Ct in 1967 where he resided with his wife Louise Watson Vereen. Repete graduated from Gibbs High School in Florence South Carolina and relocated to Middletown in 1965. He was a loving and kind person who had encouraging words for all who knew him. He will be remembered well for making and giving gospel CD’s to all with a warm smile to go along with it. Repete was also a dedicated UConn Huskies Fan as he loved sports and music equally. Upon coming to Middletown, Repete became employed by Monsanto of Deep River and retired in 2008, after 43 years of service. Repete’s warm heart was readily available to all who came in contact with him. He met and married his loving and devoted wife, Louise, on June 3, 1967. Throughout their marriage they grew more in love as they together fell in-love with Jesus and devoted their lives to serving Him. Repete joined Shiloh Baptist Church in 1966, under Reverend Lorenzo L. Woods and served the Church faithfully until his death. Throughout his life Repete would face many trials and tribulations but the love he had for the Lord, along with the support of his loving wife and dedicated Pastor, Bishop Cotton, he victoriously conquered all his personal demons and gave his life totally over to serving God and his Shiloh Baptist Church Family. Repete would serve Shiloh Baptist Church in many capacities. He was appointed to be on the Trustee Board in 1997, he served on the Combined Choir and Male Chorus. Matter of factly, Repete sung his way into Glory on the Sunday of his death at Mount Hebron Baptist Church in Meriden, Ct. His dedicated service to God and the Church did not go unnoticed. Under the instruction of the Holy Spirit, Bishop Vance Cotton would Ordain Repete to serve as Deacon for the Church on Sunday, September 26, 2012. During his tenure as Deacon, Repete was also appointed by Bishop Cotton to serve as a Prayer Warrior. God blessed Repete and Louise in their union with three children of their own and granted unto to them a heart to become Foster Parents in 2012. God has truly called one of His angels home as his work here on earth has finished. Besides his loving wife of 48 years Louise, he leaves to cherish his memory, one son Terrance Vereen of Middletown, CT, two daughters Cheronda Vereen of Middletown, CT and Anitra Vereen of Peekskill, NY. Two grandsons Terrance Ryan Vereen of Coral Springs, FL and Keonis Omari Vereen of Middletown, CT. One sister Mamie (Billy) Hyman of Florence, SC. An honorary daughter, Sharon Vereen of Snellville, GA and her five children, who called him Uncle-Granddaddy. One sister in law Susanna (Rudolph) Cherry of Windsor, NC. Two brothers in law Frank (Queen) Watson of Windsor, NC and Robert C. Watson of Middletown, CT. One God-sister Mary (Alford) Marshall of Middlefield, CT. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Two close friends Mr. Leslie Saunders and Deacon Johnny Jackson both of Middletown, Ct. Besides his parents Repete was predeceased by three brothers, Amar, twin-brother Pete and Clifford. Two sisters Jessie Blake Davis and Mae B. Thompson.
