Ralph Rodas

Ralph Rodas passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of Sunday, September 8, 2024. The third oldest of seven siblings. He was born April 28, 1958 in Danbury, CT to Mr Ralph Rodas and Mrs Virginia Nelson. His grandmother affectionately named him 'Peel,' which he was known to by his family and friends. He went through the Danbury School system until the family moved to New Haven, Connecticut, where he went to Sheridan Middle School and graduated from high school in the community. He always wanted to do hair, so after graduation he went to Cosmetology school and achieved his dream of being a hairdresser. He was pretty darn good at it too. Most of his clients stayed with him throughout his entire career. He worked at “Macy’s” for several years and then went on to work at “With These Hands” with Henri. He always dreamed of having a daughter. Along came Bryanna, the light of his life. He was a doting and loving father. He was definitely an acquired taste, either you liked him or you did not. I have to say that most people truly loved him. Once retiring from the field, (he never really retired because he was still doing a handful of clients at his home.) The friendships, relationships, and bonds that he created lasted a lifetime. Shy or introverted was never in his vocabulary. He was Very outspoken. From New Haven, Ralph moved to Bloomfield, CT, married, and from that union was blessed in his words, 'With God's greatest gift in life, his Beautiful daughter.' He returned to Macy's department store to work in men's retail. He was a member of Trinity Temple Church of God in Christ before moving his membership to Latter Rain Christian Fellowship. Ralph loved cooking and entertaining. The company, love, laughter, of his family and friends was his Paradise. He also loved theater art, and the movies. The Broadway play Cats was a fascination. He also enjoyed a day at the mall or a wonderful consignment shop. He continued working at Macy's department store up until his retirement. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Bryanna Rodas, (3) Sisters; Darlene Rodas, Paula Carrasquillo of Syracuse New York, Tatinishia E. Tallman Franklin (Curtis) of Rockingham NC, (1) Brother, Frankie Rodas, A Godson, Logan Parker Scott Heyward. Along with a host of close relatives and friends. In addition to family, there are several, but four exceptional friends, Mother Marie Baker, Hattie (Mimi)Thorton, Toni Perry-Perez, and Wanda Morton, who made a significant impact in his life for over 30 years. Ralph let 'Everyone' know how Special they were. He will be remembered for not only his very candid 'outspokenness,' but his friendliness and generous heart. His absence will be sorely missed!💞
