Phyillis C. Davender

On Sunday, October 10, 2021, Phyillis Christina Davender, age 34, transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home. Phyillis was born to Tonya Davender and Christopher Greene on April 12, 1987, in New Haven, CT Phyillis was affectionately known by her family and friends as “PC”, Philly Poo”, and Pooh Bear” (by mom). Phyillis graduated from Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven, CT. She continued her education at Gateway Community College. Phyillis was employed for over 10 years as a health care worker for the Department of Developmental Services. Phyillis was selfless, caring, and always there to help others. Throughout her travel of life, Phyillis had a passion for sneakers. Her favorite sneakers were Air Jordan 1s and Airmax. Phyillis also had a passion for cooking, #didyabaecooktoday. She enjoyed traveling, living life, and having fun. Most of all, Phyillis loved spending time with her family and friends. Phyillis is survived by her parents Christopher Greene and Tonya Davender, her “kids” (dogs) O’Melly, Jungle, and Lennox, special friend Mike Bass, brother Christopher Greene Jr. of Maryland, sisters: Chrishona Greene of New Haven, Rashawna Greene of South Carolina, and Darryllyn Greene of Maryland, God sister Chitia Jackson, and God brothers: Julian Dent, Quintin Mcintyre Jr., and Larell Sweeney of New Haven, nephew Jeremiah and niece Aubrey Reid of South Carolina, also survived by her “Shining Star” Renee Karabeinkoff. She leaves behind her God Sons Julian Dent Jr. and Marquis Winfrey Jr., her uncles, Cameron “Punkin” Greene of New Haven, Judale and Lynwood Wynkoop of Florida, and Todd Davender (Rose) of North Carolina, and Lamar Nalley (Tracie) of New Haven, her aunts Stephanie Findlay (Ryan) of Hamden, Robin (Peaches) and Angel (Yummy) Ogman of New Haven, Mattie Dixon of Hamden, CT, and Felisha Weston of North Carolina, and her bonus aunt Avis Williams. She is also survived by her “Honey Ma” and “Pop” Mary and Marvin Riddick of New Haven. She is predeceased by her paternal grandmother Phyillis Greene, her maternal grandmother Angeline Davender, and maternal grandfather Larry Nalley. Phyillis was loved by a host of great uncles, great aunts, many cousins, and friends. To know Phyillis was to love her. Take your rest because God only takes the best. We love you Phyillis.
