Pastor Patricia A. Fontaine

It is with profound sadness and heartfelt gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Pastor Patricia Anne Pender-Fontaine, a beloved mother, grandmother, and pillar of her community. Pastor Patricia Anne Pender-Fontaine was born on April 16, 1950, in Wilson, North Carolina, to Rebecca McNeil Pender and the late Lindburg Pender. A devoted servant of God, Patricia’s unwavering faith guided every aspect of her life. She embodied grace, humility, and compassion, serving as a shining example of God’s love and teachings. Patricia was the Pastor of Bridge of Hope Crossings Outreach Ministries, where she dedicated herself to spreading God’s word and helping those in need. Her ministry was a sanctuary for many, as she brought hope, healing, and inspiration to countless lives. She also lived a life of extraordinary community service. Whether preparing meals for the homeless, offering prayers for those in need, or extending a helping hand to the less fortunate, Pastor Patricia’s acts of kindness reflected her deep belief in love, generosity, and the power of faith. Her life was a testament to her dedication to serving others. Despite her commitments to her ministry and community, Pastor Patricia’s greatest devotion was to her family. She created a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support, becoming the heart and glue of her family. She cherished every moment with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, offering them wisdom, strength, and encouragement. Pastor Patricia will be remembered for her gentle spirit, radiant smile, and the warmth she brought to everyone around her. Her legacy of faith, service, and unconditional love will live on in the lives of those she touched. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Hugh Fontaine of Palm Bay, FL; her devoted mother, Rebecca Pender of Hamden, CT; her children, Lenny Pender (Deidre) of Hamden, CT, and Keith Pender (Shannon) of Beaumont, California; and her siblings, Eugene Smith (Carol) of Atlanta, GA, Raye Pender of Stamford, CT, Lindburg Pender of Hamden, CT, and Regina Lewis of Waterbury, CT. She also leaves behind Overseer Prophet V, a host of cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who mourn her loss. Pastor Patricia was preceded in death by her father, Lindburg Pender; her son, Andre Pender; her sister, Delores Person; her brother, Willie Pender; and her grandson, Timothy Mathis. A celebration of Patricia Anne Pender-Fontaine’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church, located at 1324 Chapel Street, New Haven, CT. While our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in knowing she is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she will forever remain in our hearts.
