Patricia Conyers

Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Wife Patricia Conyers, entered eternal peace on May 28th, 2026. Patricia was born February 6th, 1958 in New Haven, CT to the late John Carter and Anna Mae Washington-Carter. Patricia spent her formative years between New Jersey and New Haven and was a graduate of Richard C. Lee High School in New Haven, CT (Class of 1977). On September 4th 1982, Patricia married fellow Lee High classmate and Alumni, Willie Conyers with whom she remained married until her passing. After graduating from Lee High, she attended South Central Community College in New Haven. Patty spent most of her adult life helping others, which was her true joy, in the fields of Nursing, Security, and Hospitality with many of those years spent as a nurse’s aide at Whitney Center, a private duty Home Health Aide, a security guard, and most widely known to many, as a highly regarded Supervisor for New Haven’s Town Green Ambassadors from the late 90s until 2008, where she spent her time tirelessly and gracefully helping residents, businesses, and tourists amongst Downtown New Haven. In her later well years, she spent her time volunteering through Agency on Aging of South Central Connecticut, working at the West Haven Community Center as both a senior companion in their Adult Day Care, as well as an aide in their early childhood learning center. Patricia bore many roles to her family, from supportive Military Wife, to Mother, Sister, Aunt, Pet lover, resident fashionista and she was our singing and dancing queen, but her favorite role of them all was becoming a grandmother. In 2016, Patricia became a grandmother, affectionately known as “Gigi” by her grandkids, and it was a role she took on like no other. Whether she was doting on her family to a stranger for a few short moments, or someone close to her, everyone knew about her grandchildren. Patricia is survived by her husband, Willie Conyers, daughter Jennifer Conyers, sister Robin Carter, brother John Carter (Darin), grandchildren Isabella Villanueva, Zayn Villanueva, Sister-In-Laws Clara Robinson (Joseph) and Catherine Conyers, Brother in Law Larry Conyers, as well as over a dozen Nieces and Nephews. Patricia is predeceased by her parents, John Carter and Anna Mae Washington-Carter, her brother Peter Lyndon Carter; Parent in laws Willie A. Conyers and Pastor Frances Witherspoon-Conyers, Sister-in-Laws Shirley Conyers-Ford, Sadie Bethune, and Barbra Lakes; Brother-in-Laws Levern and Albertus Conyers, Niece Colleen Renee Brown, Nephew Tyrese Donnell Conyers, as well as four beautiful angel babies that she did not get to raise earthside.
