Pastor Annette Relaford

The Life and Legacy of Pastor Annette Relaford “Well done, good and faithful servant; . . . enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” (Matthew 25:23) Pastor Annette Relaford departed this life on July 16, 2020. Born on June 20, 1946 to the late Hercules & Amelia Jones in Hemingway, South Carolina she was one of ten children. Annette was a product of the South Carolina School System and graduated from Battery Park High School. Later, graduating from Wilfred Hair Academy. Pastor Relaford relocated to New Haven, Connecticut in 1965, having two children Henry and Angelia Cooper. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to the love her life, Deacon Delano Relaford, Sr. in 1967. To this blessed union was born Delano, Jr., Natasha, Alonzo, Tyrese, Jonathan, and Quintina Relaford. In 1985, Pastor Annette Relaford became a Black Business owner of; Annette’s Unisex Beauty Salon. In the late 70’s she joined St. Stephens Pentecostal Church and gave her life to Christ, under the leadership of the late Overseer David Atkins. There, committing her love for God and the church serving in many capacities in the church. In 2000- 2002, she began serving as the Assistant Pastor soon becoming the third official Pastor of St. Stephens Pentecostal Church in 2002. Pastor Relaford served her church, community and her God well. Pastor Annette Relaford leaves to cherish memories, her children; Henry Cooper (Drucilla) of Derby, CT, Angelia Cooper, of New Haven, CT, Delano Relaford, Jr. (Margarita) of Norwich CT, Natasha Relaford-Murphy (Julius) of West Haven, CT Alonzo Relaford (Fabiana) of Meriden, CT, Tyrese Relaford (Mikisha) of Hamden, CT, Jonathan Relaford of New Haven, CT, Quintina Relaford of New Haven, CT, and Shalene Hodges of New Haven, CT. Siblings; Hercules Jones Jr., Rosetta McCullough and Shirley Alves of Florida, Hallie Palmer and Francina Doctor of South Carolina, a very special sister / raised as a daughter Priscilla Ashley of Hamden, CT. One Aunt, Clementine McFadden of South Carolina and a host of Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and special godchildren, also a host of friends and many love ones. She was predeceased by her parents; the late Hercules & Amelia Jones, her husband the late Deacon Delano Relaford, Sr., and three brothers; Lawrence Jones, Jimmy Jones, and William Jones.
