Michele Sawyer-Lowe

Michele Rene “Missy” Sawyer-Lowe (nee Parker), 58, of New Haven, Connecticut, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 17, 2019. She was born in New Haven, CT on April 12, 1961, to the marital union of the late Raymond Parker Sr. and Flora Bell Parker (nee Streater).Michele attended the New Haven Public Schools and graduated from Cross High School. She pursued an undergraduate degree at Greensboro College, located in Greensboro, North Carolina,where she remained for two years. Michele was married to Alonzo Lowe on March 9, 2010, in New Haven. She thoroughly enjoyed her career as a pantry worker and desk attendant for Yale University in New Haven for 18 years.She loved building relationships with “her students” and was viewed as a mother figure for them.Additionally, Michele held employment as a geriatric nursing assistant for 10 years at the Jewish Home for the Aged, in New Haven. She truly embodied a nurturing spirit and cared for so many. Michele cherished her family, but held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren. She was an integral part in the raising of her grandchildren and pressed her way to every family celebration. In addition to her devoted love for her family, Michele had a great appreciation forsweet desserts, candy, and her shrimp dinners! Michele actively attended Faith Missionary Baptist Church located in West Haven, Connecticut under the leadership of Pastor Lemuel R.T. Blackett. Michele rededicated her life back to Christon April 27, 2019. Michele is predeceased by both her paternal grandparents Lovett and Helen Parker; maternal grandparents Henry and Dinah Streater; her mother and father, Raymond and Flora Parker, Sr.;and her brother, Raymond Parker, Jr. Michele leaves to continue her legacy her husband; Alonzo Lowe, her children; Darrell Sawyer,Alexis Sawyer; Jacqueline Blake-Bellamy (Dennis Bellamy); Angel Elder, and Christopher Elder all of New Haven County; brother Charles Glenn and sisters Angela Parker and Ramona Anderson of New Haven County; eleven grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins,family, and friends. The family of Michele Sawyer-Lowe wishes to thank everyone for their love, support, and kindwords during this difficult time. Additionally, the family wishes to thank the McClam Funeral Home and Morning Star Freewill Holiness Church.
