Michael Angelo Fox

Michael Angelo Fox, affectionately known as ("Angelo"), ('Big Lo"), ("Unk"), ("Uncle"), ("Fox") and ("Coach Fox"), was born on July 7, 1967 in Sanford, NC, the only child of Thomas L. Fox and Jean A. Thomas-Fox, husband of Lisa Moore-Fox, father figure and friend to many; passed away on Thursday, the 20th day of March 2025 after a long illness. His loved ones were by his side during his last days. A former Corrections Officer for the State of Connecticut, Fox was assigned to the Cheshire Facility. He was a former mentor coordinator for the City of New Haven, his last employment assignment was as a Dropout Prevention Officer for the New Haven Board of Education. As a child, Angelo was interested in playing sports. He played baseball, basketball, and pee wee football. He began playing football at the age of seven and continued to play with the league until he entered junior high school. Upon entering high school, Angelo became a member of the football team, and as a freshman at Lee County High School; he made the varsity squad. He was varsity Ietterman during all four years in high school in the sports of football, basketball, and track & field. Fox was also a two-year letterman in baseball. He set several high school records, many o{ which still stand today. He was highly recruited by Division I colleges, and as some of you may know, his choice of sports concentration was football. Angelo attended Clemson University, located in South Carolina. While at Clemson, he was a three-year letterman. He played in five bowl games: the lndependence Bowl, the Gator Bowl, the Citrus Bowl (2-times) and the Outback Bowl; winning four of the bowl games and three ACC Conference championships. He was invited to the pro football try-out camps of the Chicago Bears and the Atlanta Falcons. He played semi-pro football with the Charlotte Barons. While playing with the Barons, he won a National Championship. His extensive travels throughout the nation, and his involvement with so many people on so many levels, enabled him to see both good and evil in the world. He realized that the choices we make today, determine our tomorrow. Armed with such knowledge, he was determined to let the youth of today know that there is something better in life for them , if they strive to obtain it. Coach Fox became involved in the lives of young men and women teaching them life values. He was a former coach with the Farnam Basketball League, as well as the Farnam Traveling Squad, the Connecticut Basketball Conference (CBC) and the New Haven Heat Basketball Association. He was a board member for the Pop Warner Football League, a football coach for the New Haven Steelers and the Hillhouse High School Varsity Football Squad. Angelo was a member of New Growth Church of God in Christ, the Oriental Lodge No. 6 and the Arabic Temple No. 40 and as such was actively involved with community activities. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Lisa Moore-Fox; his parents, Thomas L. (Delores) Fox and Jean A. Thomas-Fox: Mother-in-Law: Adell Moore. One Brother: Thomas L.
