Marlon McCoter

Marlon McCoter 26, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday Jan. 13, 2009 at CT Hospice Center in Branford. Marlon was born April 8, 1982 and raised in New Haven, CT by his mother Minister Jennifer Ann Hall. He attended New Haven Public Schools and furthered his education at Gateway Community College studying graphic Arts. Marlon joined Holy Nation Church under leadership of Dr. Mary Walton where he gave his life to the lord at a young age. As he got older he decided to become a member of Love Center Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Kim and Bishop Frankie Carmichael. Marlon was an awesome bass and lead guitarist at Love Center. Marlon was very gifted in the music department. He was a dedicated and faithful bass player for the Golden Stars and filled in for many other groups as needed. Marlon worked briefly at Ikea until his health began to fail. Marlon was a wonderful son, as awesome grandson, a proud father, loving nephew and faithful friend. Marlon leaves to cherish his memories his loving mother Minister Jennifer Ann Hall, father Michael McCoter, 2 daughters; Marlazjah McCoter and Jade Penn-McCoter, maternal grandparents; Ella (Sheward) Vereen, John D. Freeman, Julia and John Rich, Shirley Stevens and paternal grandparents; Dorothy Carr, and Elbert Bittle, 2 step brothers; Jonathan and Timothy Rich, godparents; Timmy and Babara Witherspoon, Claudia and Bobby Joe Green and Evagelist Jackie Gray. Three Aunts Evangelist Diane (Earl) Carthens, Bernice Freeman and Willie Mae McCoter, Brenda (Gean) Jeudy, and a very aunt Regina Murray, 7 uncles; Douglas and Reginald Hall, Elwood (Charmaine) Vereen, Bumpy Vereen, Tyrese Hall, Kennenth (April) McCoter, and Willie Earl Darden, his very special homemade nurse aunt Shirley Dorvil and a host of other relatives and friends. Marlon was predeceased by his great-grandmother Bessie Murray and Uncle Paul McCoter. Funeral service will be held Tuesday Jan. 20, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Morning Star Deliverance Church 125 Dixwell Ave. Calling hours will begin at 9 a.m. until time of service.
