Lucy Boomer was born on June 5, 1941 in Columbia, South Carolina to the late George Eleazer and Lucy Murray. She departed this life on October 23, 2011 at the age of 70. Lucy retired from Sargents (Assa Abbloy) after 37 years of service. She was a truly exceptional woman who lived a life of hospitality and love for her family and friends and anyone who came into her life. She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Gwendolyn McClease; two sons, Willie Eleazer, Sr. and Kevin Boomer, both of Knoxville, TN; son-in-law, Lester McClease; daughter-in-law, Shirley Eleazer of Knoxville, TN and Step-Daughter, Monica Bowden of Atlanta, GA; 10 grandchildren, Kisha, Jonisha, Ebony, Lucy, Mark, Leon, Cedric, Salena, all of New Haven, and Willie Eleazer, Jr. of Florida; 8 great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Lucy was a grandmother to many others as well, Tonisha Foster, Tylon Bostic (Raul Velazquez) Duke, Troy Brown, Aaron Moore, Ashley Ray. Predeceased by husband, Willie Boomer, son, Leon Boomer, Sr.; daughters, Robin Boomer and Selina Boomer; sisters, Rebecca Turner and Hattie Burns, brothers, David Eleazer, Sr. and Clarence Drummond; her loving companion, Howard Batchelor, and grandson Lester McClease.
