Lillie Mae Moore

Lillie Mae Moore departed this life February 9, 2016 at The Hospital of Yale Saint Raphael Campus. She was born in Clarendon County, South Carolina on April 6, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Geneva Moore- Witherspoon. She was a loving Aunt and Sister. She resided in Connecticut for many years. Lillie touched the hearts of many and loved to praise the Lord in her own way. Her hobbies were coloring, braiding hair, and she learned how to make knitted hats. Lillie was someone very special and loveable. It didn’t take much to make her happy, because she always had happiness within her heart. She was our miracle who fought until the end. Lillie is predeceased by one brother (Johnnie Witherspoon), one sister-in-law (Sally Witherspoon), two brother-in-law (Willie and Richard McFadden), and two sisters (Helen McFadden & Gladys McKnight); survived by one special niece (Martha Singleton), one brother and six sisters: Ernest McKnight, Baltimore, MD Carrie McFadden, Sumter, SC Mary Ann Witherspoon, New Haven, CT Lois McFadden, New Haven, CT Alene McKnight, (Bobby) New Haven, CT Virginia R. Baker, (Larry Singletary) Wedgefield, SC Annie F. Witherspoon, (Willie Miller) New Haven, CT A host of Nieces, Nephews, family and friends. My Dear Sweet Lillie, Words can’t express my love for you. We have been through the storm and the rain over the past 15 years you’ve been with me. I have kept my promise to always take care of you. As I watched you these last few weeks in and out of the hospital I knew you were preparing yourself to leave me. You stayed here just enough for God to show everyone your miracles. He didn’t just do it once, He did it twice which made the doctor’s say, “it was not them”, but a higher power who bought you back to life. You came back so I could say my last good-bye. The bond we had was like no other and you couldn’t just leave me that way. When I was in your room for the last time, it was so hard to make that final call. I rubbed your head to say my fear-well. Although, you couldn’t see me, you knew my presence was with you saying go in peace. The pain is so deep, and I’m hurting inside but in due time I know God will heal my wounds. I will rejoice with you and I can truly say you don’t have to cry no more, you don’t have to suffer no more, because God has called you home where there’s no sickness nor pain.
