LeAndrea Trader

LeAndrea Lynnette Trader “China Doll” was born on September 14, 1980 in New Haven, CT to Jacqueline L. White and Leonard A. Trader. On Monday, May 10, 2021 at the age of 40, she entered eternal rest at Yale-New Haven Hospital - Saint Raphael’s Campus in New Haven, Connecticut. LeAndrea was affectionately known as Lee to her family and friends. Lee was educated in both the Hamden and New Haven Public School system and was a proud member of the graduating class of 1998 at James Hillhouse High School in New Haven. While attending Hillhouse, Lee was a member of the varsity cheerleading squad and voted Ms. Senior by her classmates after only one year. After graduation, Lee went on to continue her education at Norfolk State University in Norfolk, VA. During that time, she was also employed at Dillard’s department store located in the Military Circle Mall. Eventually, Lee would return back to Connecticut and secure employment at Leeway Inc. in New Haven, and then move on to Genesis Healthcare Arden House in Hamden, formally known as The Arden House, in a position she would hold for more than 20 years. Lee was the life of the party and to know her, was to love her. Her smile could literally light up a room and she had a loud and infectious laugh that would make anyone laugh -- just by hearing it. Despite any challenges she faced, she never let any illness, situation, or circumstance deter her from getting things done. She was always determined to push through. Lee was a daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and a friend but most importantly she was a mother to her one and only son, Prince Daniel Mills, whom she loved with all her heart. She leaves to cherish her memory her son Prince; mother Jacqueline L. White; father Leonard A. Trader (Sheryl); brother Sheymar Trader; niece LeAndrea who was gifted by carrying her name; maternal grandmother Willa Eaton- Bailey; paternal grandmother Lillian Randolph; aunts Karen Trader-Leigh and Carolyn Trader; uncles Tyrone Trader, Melvin Credle, David Eaton (Karen), Anthony Eaton (Liwayway), James Eaton (Rosalind), Lenus Eaton (Michelle), Carl A. Bailey (Christine); and three friends that she considered her sisters, Nakia Black-Geter (Jerod), April Jones-Deans (Oama) and Nakia Dawson-Douglas (Marquis). She also leaves a host of family, friends and co-workers from near and far who loved her on earth, but God in Heaven loved her best. Lee was predeceased by her brother, Rodney Trader; grandfathers Leonard Trader and David T. Eaton; uncle Bradale Eaton and aunt Joanne James.
