Kenneth Barnes

Kenneth Barnes, 51 passed away on October 16, 2016. He was born in Flushing, NY to the late Charlotte Brockenberry Thomas and Edward Brockenberry on October 7, 1965. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. His accomplishments were great both professionally and personally because he related to people from all walks of life. He was a former Correctional Office and was currently working for Southern Home Care Services as a driver and dispatcher. Kenny had a deep love for God and was compelled to help everyone around him. He was a man who did anything in his power to provide for his family. He was like a super hero because he was always there when you needed him. No matter how he was feeling he would always rise to the occasion. Kenny was well respected and loved by everyone he came in contact with. He was a man who stood firm on his beliefs and he always said what you needed to hear even if you didn’t want to hear it. Though he was very opinionated he always found a way to make you laugh. He was a great example of courage, strength, faith, perseverance and love. He was predeceased in death by his mother, Charlotte Brockenberry Thomas, his father, Edward Brockenberry, one sister, Renee Smith, one brother, Keith Barnes, two aunts, Evangelist Janie Manora and Min Charlene Anderson, two uncles, Edward Leon Webster and Elbert Webster, Jr. He leaves to mourn his death his loving wife, Sherry West-Barnes, step-father Mr. Dave Thomas, four daughters Tiffany Marshall, Nicole Melendez, Shante Barnes(Rochester, NY) and Shannon Barnes. His four sons Kenneth Edward Barnes(Ciana) Charlotte, NC, Warren Barnes(Rochester, NY), Michael Parrott, and Marquel Achu. His three brothers Andre Barnes, Michael Brockenberry (Shatima) Montgomery, AL, and Kevin Barnes (Marilyn). His six sisters Linda Davie(Carlos), Elizabeth Jenkins(Raymond), Kewa Cole(Jimmy) Montgomery, AL, Jacquelyn Garner(Vincent), Denise Bethea and Regina Lloyd(Garrett) Atlanta, GA. His nine grandchildren Quentin Barnes, Shammond Marshall, Aaliyah Barnes, Taylor Barnes, Maya Barnes, Nevaeh Golden, Joe Golden, Liam Wilson and Gloria Wilson. He also has great host of nieces, nephews and friends whom he loved deeply.
