Johnny Marquette Bowman

Johnny Marquette Bowman, known to many as Moop, 39, entered eternal rest on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born on March 7, 1978 in New Haven, CT to Johnny Gore and Elizabeth Bowman. He attended Sheridan Middle School and Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven, CT. Moop was known for his jokes, his love for his family, especially his children and his friends. He also had a passion for music, boy did he love him some Tupac and DMX!!! Johnny also had a desire for cooking, in which he learned from his grandmother Bessie Thompson. But more importantly, Moop was known for his generous heart, he was so kind loving and very giving that he decided to become an organ donor, in which he saved an individual’s life!!! That was just Moop!!! Johnny M. Bowman leaves to cherish in his memory his daughters Jonae Zy’ree Bowman and Regina Michelle Cooke both of New Haven and a son Jayvien Gabriel Banks of Tampa, FL; his father Johnny Gore of New Haven, mother Elizabeth A. Bowman, step-father Mark A. Thompson of New Haven, maternal grandfather Willie Bowman Sr. 6 sisters, Jilanda M. Bowman and Jannisha M. Bowman of New Haven, Brenda Thomas of Wilmington, NC, Dorotha Thomas of Little River, SC, Crystal Gore-Scott (Marqeuis) and Tiffany Gore of Kingstree, SC, 6 brothers, Mark A. Bowman, Malik A. Bowman, Juwan T. Bowman of New Haven, Anthony Thomas of Little River, SC, Melvin Harrison of Conway, SC, Eric Harrison (Rochelle) of New Haven, CT, maternal aunts, Elaine Sims of Delaware, Theresa and Rosanne Bowman of New Haven, CT, paternal aunts, Hazel Bellamy and Diantha Vereen of Philadelphia, PA, Debra Thompson of Florence, SC, Sherri, Sethe and Faith Thompson of New Haven, paternal uncles Evander Gore Jr. of Little River, SC and Frank Gore of Philadelphia, PA, maternal uncles Willie Bowman of New Haven, CT and Lee Bowman (Roza) of Fort Myers, FL. Johnny was preceded in death by brother Johnny Lee Gore Jr., sister Shannon Harrison McFadden, paternal grandparents Evander Gore Sr., Eva Mae Gore and Bessie B. Thompson, maternal grandmother Johnnie M. Wint, maternal uncle Alex Bowman and paternal uncle John Thompson. Johnny will be missed by a host of uncles, aunt cousins, nieces, nephews and very close friends Wayne Ricks Jr., Leshaun Hicks, Terrell Barnes, Gary Hall, Lesley O’ Neil and Gina Montagna of New Haven, CT.
