Jaméca Malloy

On Friday, February 18, 2022, Jameca Lacole Malloy departed this earthly life at Yale New Haven Hospital. Jameca was born on January 21, 1980 in New Haven, Connecticut to the late Jimmie Lawrence Malloy Sr. and the late Melissa Edwards Malloy. Jameca graduated in 1997 from Wilbur Cross High School New Haven, CT. In 2001, she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from Western Connecticut State University, in 2011 a Master of Social Work from the University of Connecticut, and in 2021, a 092 Administration Certification from Sacred Heart University. Jameca was currently in the process of obtaining her real estate license and she co-owned an ecommerce business. At the time of her passing Jameca was employed as a Social Worker at Davis Street School in the New Haven Public School System. Before her tenure at Davis Street School, she worked as the Director of Mental Health CT, Director of Off Campus Operations at the Stonington Institute, and as a Program Director of the Emergency Shelter Management Services Inc. Jameca was passionate and loved to work with people from all walks of life. Her compassion and presence will be missed. Jameca enjoyed life. She loved to laugh, travel, EAT, sing, shop and talk junk. She was small but mighty with a heart of gold. She was all knowing and had advice to all who would listen. Jameca was a beautiful, strong, independent, smart, loving and caring person, watch out because she was also very competitive and strong willed. Jameca was a total package. Her leadership skills and tenacity made her a force to be reckoned with. We will miss all the meals, jokes, bad singing, laughs and beautiful smile from an amazing woman. Jameca leaves to cherish her memories her 4 children with whom she adored with every bit of her fiber. Kennedi, Kambrie, Karter Malloy, and her stepdaughter Aaliyah Robinson. Her companion Michelle Cabaldon of 19 years, her sister Queen Edwards Smith (Dr. David), and brother Jimmie Lawrence Malloy Jr. (Erika), and her maternal grandmother Arlease Gibbs Edwards. Her nieces Alayzia Malloy, Melissa Smith, Jayla Bittle. Her nephews David Smith Jr., Michael Smith, Daniel Smith, and Jimmie Malloy III. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Jameca was predeceased by her Father and Mother, Jimmy and Melissa Malloy, maternal grandfather Lee Edwards, paternal grandfather and grandmother, David Malloy and Elizabeth Robinson Malloy. Her uncles Norman, William, Bruce, and Jerry Edwards, Walter, David, Winnie, Demtssey Malloy. Her aunts Ethel, Christine Edwards, Mary Malloy and Margie Malloy Sparks.
