Hubert Nelson Warren

Hubert Nelson Warren oldest son of Doctor and Connie Warren, was born on December 1, 1943, in Clinton, North Carolina. Hubert departed this life on August 14, 2019. At an early age, Hubert became spiritually committed and joined Big Piney Grove Baptist Church. Hubert was a 1961 graduate of Charles E. Perry High School and also Class President. Hubert join the army shortly after high school. After receiving an honorable discharge from the United States Army, Hubert along with his cousins were part of The Great Migration to New Haven Connecticut for better jobs and opportunities. Hubert resided in New Haven for over 50 years and was a tire builder at Armstrong Rubber Company, machinist at Avco, Pratt & Whitney and Union Carbide. Hubert retired as a Supervisor at Pitney Bowes Milford location. Hubert was a hard worker as he took pride in providing for his family. Hubert cherished his grandchildren Naja and Neil. He was their babysitter on snow days and school breaks. He enjoyed watching Bonanza, M*A*S*H and the History Channel. Hubert favorite movie was The Ten Commandments. Hubert favorite song was Patches by Clarence Carter. Let’s not forget his favorite cartoons Tom and Jerry and The Flintstones. Hubert was a fan of many sports teams he was an equal opportunity sports fan his current teams were the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. Prior to his medical condition that prohibit him from traveling he enjoy attending family reunions, visiting with friends and sitting on the porch watching the neighborhood. Hubert overcame so much in his 75 years he is the true meaning of “Resilient” Besides his loving and devoted wife of 51 years Mae. He leaves to celebrate his blessed life his children Pia (Anthony) Grasty, Johnnie (Zanetta) Warren and Hubert Jr. (Fredia) Warren. Sisters Rosia Warren-Blue and Clara Christine Warren-Moore and brother Chavis Warren. Sisters-in-law Barbara Hines Jenkins and Anne Hines Walston and Brother-in-law Ret. Lt. Colonel Ellis (Lorraine) Hines. His loving grandchildren Naja and Neil Grasty who affectionally called him Pa-Pa. He was preceded in death by his older sisters Dorothy Alene Warren and Maggie Warren Parker, mother-in-law Elnora Hines Finch and Brother-in laws John Robert Moore II and John Ropell Hines and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. The Family would like to thank everyone for all their prayers and support throughout the years and continue to keep us in prayer. We would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Regal Care West Haven, Dr. Harold Tara and the staff at Yale Smilow Cancer Hospital and Compass Hospice Care.
